GERMANY: Family Of Slain Woman Begs Prosecutors To Re-Open Case Against Clinic Which Allowed A Psychotic Transgender Killer To Stay On Ward With Females

The family of a 40-year-old woman who was brutally murdered by a trans-identified male while receiving psychiatric care has filed a motion at the Munich Higher Regional Court to compel further legal action. Kamilla Nagy was killed in May 2022 at the Isar-Amper Clinic in Haar, near Munich, by Jayson David B., a transgender Brazilian national who had been involuntarily admitted to the facility just one day earlier.

At the time of her death, Nagy was voluntarily receiving treatment at the clinic. Her family is now calling for accountability from the clinic’s staff, after a preliminary investigation into potential negligent homicide was closed without any charges being pressed against the transgender killer.

According to police reports, 32-year-old Jayson David B. had been detained by Munich authorities in the city’s old town after displaying signs of severe psychological distress. As Münchner Merkur reported, Jayson was deemed a danger to himself and others and was subsequently admitted to the clinic.

Prior to his admission, Jayson had killed his own dog, repeatedly stabbing it with nail scissors and strangling it to death. While being transported to the clinic, he allegedly told officers he had acted on divine orders and intended to kill a human next. Despite this, he was admitted to the facility on a ward with vulnerable women.

According to Stephan Beer, head of the homicide division, the suspect was described as “male by sex, female in appearance.” Jayson was placed in a secure ward of the clinic after being detained by Munich police, who had found him in a mental health crisis and deemed him a danger to himself and others.

The next day, the gruesome killing took place. According to BILD, which initially reported the case under the misleading headline “Patientin tötet Patientin” (“Female Patient Kills Female Patient”), Jayson tore a stainless steel shower rod from the wall of his bathroom and entered Nagy’s adjacent room. He struck her at least 20 times before strangling her with a sweater. He then piled clothing, mattresses, and furniture on her body and set the heap on fire. When firefighters arrived to extinguish the blaze, they discovered Nagy’s body. Jayson was found nearby, still holding the metal rod and a lighter.

Police revealed Jayson had previously come to their attention eight times, four of those for violent offenses. Due to the particularly brutal nature of the attack, prosecutors initially charged him with murder. However, in July 2023, the Munich I Regional Court ruled that Jayson was not criminally responsible due to severe mental illness. A psychiatric expert diagnosed him with paranoid schizophrenia, accompanied by religious delusions. In court, Jayson’s lawyer stated his client believed Nagy was “a witch” and that God had commanded him to kill her. He was committed to a psychiatric hospital for manslaughter.

In parallel, the Munich Public Prosecutor’s Office launched an investigation into possible negligence by clinic staff, following concerns that prior warnings about Jayson were ignored. Police and health authorities had reportedly flagged him as dangerous, but the clinic’s operator—the Upper Bavaria District—claimed there was “no indication of an immediate threat.” As a result, no restrictions were placed on Jayson’s movement within the ward.

This lack of oversight allowed Jayson to remove the iron shower rod and move freely through the facility unnoticed. Reports indicate the attack lasted over an hour before a fire alarm was triggered. A mother of another patient, speaking anonymously to Münchner Merkur, claimed that dangerous objects such as scissors could easily be brought onto the ward. Her concerns echoed broader criticisms of inadequate staffing, substandard care, and poor safety protocols.

Despite these issues, the investigation into clinic staff was dropped in January 2024 after prosecutors determined there was no criminal wrongdoing. A complaint filed by Nagy’s family was dismissed in March 2024.

At a press conference this week, Nagy’s mother, Eleonora Nagy, spoke emotionally about the ordeal: “My child was killed by a monster,” she said. “She wasn’t hit by a truck on the street—she was killed in a protected space, a place where she sought healing.” The family accused authorities of trying to “sweep the case under the rug” and is demanding a full legal inquiry.

Their lawyer, Jella von Wiarda, stressed the need for a proper investigation under the rule of law: “The circumstances of why this horrific crime occurred—and why Kamilla had to die—remain unresolved.” A private expert report commissioned by the family concluded that “clear and serious treatment errors” had been made by the clinic in handling Jayson’s case.

The family has now filed a motion with the Munich Higher Regional Court to compel prosecution and clarify the clinic’s responsibility.

The case has also drawn attention amid growing scrutiny of crimes involving trans-identified male offenders in Germany. In a separate case reported by Reduxx, Henrico Hilton G., a 38-year-old trans-identified male from South Africa, was charged with manslaughter at the Potsdam Regional Court in February 2025.

Henrico stabbed a 33-year-old security worker to death at an asylum shelter in Potsdam, fleeing the scene immediately after. Hilton was arrested after brazenly calling police to report he had been misgendered at a nearby grocery store, thus revealing his location to investigators.

While in pretrial detention at a women’s prison in Luckau-Duben, Hilton reportedly threatened and terrorized female inmates, leading to criminal complaints.

Hilton was ultimately sentenced to 13 years in prison in April, but has announced plans to appeal the verdict, claiming innocence.
