An individual who self-identifies as “intersexual” and a “woman” has been arrested for his role in a January 31 bomb scare. Lily Mestemacher, 29, falsely claimed there was a bomb at a store in a community over 200 miles away from his location.
Police in Oxford, Mississippi first responded to the bomb threat on January 31, announcing through posts on social media that a bomb had been called in at a local Walmart. Officers and an Explosive K9 team were sent to search the area in question, turning up no evidence of explosives and deeming the area safe.
An investigation was launched and the threat was quickly traced back to 29-year-old Lily Mestemacher of Conway, Arkansas. An arrest warrant was issued for False Reporting of Placing Explosives, and Mestemacher was arrested in Conway. Mestemacher had reportedly made the threats over social media.
On February 10, Mestemacher was transported to Oxford and booked on the charges. He was seen in the Lafayette County Justice Court for initial hearing where the judge announced a $50,000 bond.
While some media outlets are reporting Mestemacher as a “woman,” or “trans woman,” others are simply avoiding labels altogether. Both the Daily Caller and a Mississippi news website refer to Mestemacher as a “bearded person” or “person.”
Some reporters appear to be unclear as to what Mestemacher’s sex is, with at least one ABC affiliate outlet labelling him an “intersex woman” following a statement from Oxford Police Department’s public information officer. ABC 15 went on to claim that those identifying Mestemacher as “transgender” were making false statements.
Reduxx reached out to the Oxford Police Department who advised us that Mestemacher self-identified as intersexual. They confirmed they do not have any evidence to suggest he genuinely has a disorder of sexual development. The Department could not provide any information on what sex Mestemacher was currently booked as.
While the motives for Mestemacher’s threat against Oxford are currently unknown, Reduxx has become aware of a 2021 podcast recorded by him titled “LivingthroughitwithLily.” The bizarre 30-minute audio features Mestemacher discussing various topics including religion, demons, and the time-space continuum.
In the audio, Mestemacher says he is “spiritually ascended.” He plays music for a large portion of the podcast and uses various accents and voices when speaking. He said he was using a “fake voice” in the beginning and then asked the audience if he should use his “real flamboyant voice,” even though it makes people “not wanna listen.” Throughout the half-hour, Mestemacher can be heard laughing in an eerie way.
At one point, he speaks over a dramatic instrumental and proclaims: “Okay, so here’s what I’ve learned. You are the one you seek… whatever you do, though, will come back to you…. You’ll have to address the selfishness because of what you did … Don’t hinder your growth or anyone else’s natural growth, and negativity from other people will not ever matter.”
In addition, Reduxx discovered several idle Instagram profiles appearing to belong to Mestemacher. One of them uses the handle @livingthroughitwithlilyonair, referring to his podcast’s name.
Another account, using the handle @nothingisembarrassing, features “she/her/hers” pronouns in a bio which reads: “It’s actually impossible to hate anyone. Everything is light and ego is dark. Underneath thought has light. It’s impossible to hate anyone at all.”
A third profile of Mestemacher’s uses the handle @lilyintersex and features another set of pronouns, “she/they/her/hers.”
Only one of the profiles belonging to Mestemacher features several posts, this one again declaring “she/they” pronouns.
Mestemacher used this account to show off a tattoo that says “pain,” and posted filtered videos of himself speaking in a high-toned voice and displaying erratic behavior coupled with the same eerie laugh heard in his 2021 podcast.
He also shared an edited photo of half his face spliced with a photo of a devil accompanied by a caption including “#antichrist” and “#revelation” among other religion-themed hashtags. No posts have been made on the account since 2021.
On social media, many took to slamming WCBI News, the local station which was first to report on Mestemacher’s arrest. The outlet stated that an “Arkansas woman” was facing charges, and failed to mention Mestemacher’s sex or gender identity.
“This is the poster child of the entire movement of self ID. Who [in] their right mind would think that is a woman? Go back to the sideshow days of the bearded woman and they ensured everything else about her was feminine. This is a mockery and used to skew all crime statistics,” Twitter user Stuart Slesh said in response to Giggle founder Sall Grover’s tweet about the news.
“But how can you possibly tell? Have you checked ‘her’ genitals? I’ve been reliably told by the pronoun ppl of Twitter that the only way of knowing is by checking,” another user said jokingly.
Despite being reported as a “woman,” Mestemacher was initially booked as a male, according to a cached page on the Faulkner County Sheriff’s Department inmate roster. Mestemacher would have been in custody of the FCSO prior to his transfer to Mississippi on the bomb threat charges.
