German Government To Support Sympathetic Play About Pedophilia

The German national government and the Berlin Senate are set to support a play about about “minor-attracted people” that casts being a pedophile in a sympathetic light.

Titled “A MAP’s Tale,” the feature will premiere in February of 2023 at Theater unterm Dach in Berlin and will focus on the story of a character named Adam, who is portrayed as a young man grappling with his sexual attraction to children.

In the play’s description, pedophilia is labeled a “sexual preference disorder” and a “sexual orientation.” While the play is described as tackling the issue of preventing child sexual abuse, the synopsis decries what they call the “gross oversimplifications and criminal associations that currently shape our perceptions of all MAPs.”

The play is based on the true story of a pedophile named “Adam” who was interviewed by journalist Luke Malone. Malone created an episode about the man’s story for the This American Life Podcast titled ‘Help Wanted: Tarred & Feathered.’ Malone also published an article on Medium related to his research, going into more detail about the child pornography the pedophile had consumed as a young man, and what he had found attractive about young children.

Malone’s article on Adam’s story was entitled “You’re 16. You’re a Pedophile. You Don’t Want to Hurt Anyone. What Do You Do Now?” and it was nominated for the 2014 National Magazine Award for Public Interest.

In his article, Malone detailed how the pedophile began watching child abuse material at a young age, but became distressed after viewing a video of a young boy screaming while being raped.

“As he watched the scene unfold, Adam was transfixed, and then quickly revolted; he reached over and stopped the video. It wasn’t like anything he’d witnessed in the two years he’d been viewing child pornography. Until now everything he’d seen seemed to suggest that the kids liked it, but this toddler was clearly in pain,” Malone wrote of the pedophile’s experience.

The article then describes how Adam first became attracted to young children at age 11, and is primarily attracted to “boys aged 3 to 7 and girls aged 5 to 8.” When asked what he finds attractive about children he said, “Small body, hairless legs, you know, things like that… like small genitalia.”

Malone’s research sympathetically portrayed pedophilia, and even drew comparisons between pedophile rights movements and the gay rights movement.

“How do these young men and women negotiate that with no viable role models or support network? There is no It Gets Better for pedophiles,” Malone complained.

Malone’s podcast and article inspired “A MAP’s Tale,” and the journalist excitedly announced the rendition on his Twitter at the end of November.

In his tweet, Malone noted that both the German federal government and Berlin Senate were supporting the project, and provided a link to Monstress Mess, the self-described “feminist” theater collective producing the play.

The Berlin Senate has a disturbing history of providing funding to concerning projects, the most infamous of which is widely known as the Kentler Project.

Beginning in 1969, sexologist Helmut Kentler received support from the Berlin Senate to launch a pilot program which placed foster children in the homes of pedophiles in an attempt to test his theory that pedophiles could make good foster fathers. Kentler had theorized that the pedophile’s attraction to children would result in a strong drive to take care of them.

“These people were able to put up with these [mentally] retarded boys only because they were in love with them, infatuated with them, crazy about them,” Kentler explained in 1970. The program operated for 30 years with full government knowledge, and a number of children experienced horrific sexual abuse at the hands of their pedophile “foster parents.”

Earlier this year, Reduxx revealed that the Berlin Senate’s Department for Youth, Education and Family was providing support to an LGBT daycare pilot program which had a pedophile sympathizer sitting on the board overseeing the project.

Rüdiger Lautmann, a prominent German sociologist and gay rights advocate, was the author of a 1994 book titled The Lust for Children: A Portrait of Pedophiles. The book was based on interviews Lautmann conducted with 60 men who admitted to sexually abusing young children, primarily boys. In the book, Lautmann argued that the majority of the “relationships” between the men and children were based in mutual romantic love, and that the children enjoyed being abused.

“For me, it is is very clear that there do exist relationships that do not require any intervention,” Lautmann wrote, “The children cling to their lovers, and can leave them any moment if they choose.”

Lautmann, who was a close friend of Helmut Kentler, was removed from the project’s board following the Reduxx report.

In addition to being supported by German government bodies, the play is set to receive funding from a number of other initiatives, including the Prevention Network Dunkelfeld of Charitè Berlin.

Dunkelfeld was launched in 2005 with the aim of reducing the stigma surrounding pedophilia in a purported effort to encourage pedophiles to come forward and seek support and treatment — an approach first popularized by B4U-Act, a pedophile support group which is also cited as popularizing the term “minor-attracted person.”

While B4U-Act argues that destigmatization would empower those who are sexually attracted to children to seek support and therapy, the organization was founded by a convicted child rapist who stated his goal was not to prevent offending, but to succeed in the normalization of pedophilia where NAMBLA had “failed.”

In 2009, Michael Melsheimer advised his fellow pedophiles that the new approach championed by B4U-Act would be focused around garnering public sympathy by falsely claiming their intention was to assist the prevention of child sexual abuse by destigmatizing pedophilia.

The exchange took place on Boy Chat, the internet’s longest-running pederast message board where Melsheimer used his real name to post and engage with his pedophile colleagues.

Some pedophiles on Boy Chat were concerned B4U-Act would covertly attempt to prevent them from engaging in sexual relations with children. To those members, Melsheimer asserted: “Be assured you will find no current reference to the prevention of offending. You can take that to the bank.”
