Breaking: Collegiate Water Polo Association @CWPAClubs releases pathway for men into women’s water polo

The long-awaited trial of a Canadian man accused of murder is facing setbacks after he filed to change his name in the indictment due to his transgender status. Gabriella Sears, born Dereck Donald Sears, has been in prison since 2021 for brutally murdering and dismembering a man in Kelowna, British Columbia.
As previously reported by Reduxx, Sears was arrested in 2021 and charged with second-degree murder and interference with human remains in the death of 49-year-old Darren Middleton, who had employed Sears to do occasional work for him.
Middleton’s body was first discovered on June 16, 2021, by his partner at the time, Brenda Adams, who went looking for him at Sears’ home after he failed to return from work that evening. Middleton was found in Sears’ bathroom partially clothed next to a bathtub with the water running.
Although Middleton reportedly died after receiving a blow to the head, the Crown prosecutors revealed he received several other disturbing injuries post-mortem, including the partial removal of his penis and testicles, a gash to his throat that “was so deep Adams could see right inside,” and other stab wounds. Additionally, Adams noted that Middleton was wearing someone else’s clothing.
After seeing the dismembered corpse of her common-law partner, Adams fled the crime scene, screaming. As she ran from the house, she saw Sears dancing in the middle of the road “with his eyes closed and his arms in the air” to no music.
While Sears, who had a full beard at the time of the arrest, did tell Adams and Middleton he was a woman two days before committing his heinous crimes, he was identified by police as a man.
The trial was underway last fall but was put on pause after Sears terminated his attorneys, Jordan Watt and Tom Forss, 18 days in. Despite successfully having his confessions excluded as evidence during the trial, Sears accused them of “gaslighting [him] and colluding with the Crown.” Watt and Forss also argued that because Sears was allegedly sexually abused by Middleton, the routine strip search and swabbing conducted by police “was traumatic and insensitive.”
Several months later, he parted ways with another lawyer, Mark Swartz, who announced he was no longer representing Sears due to a “fundamental breakdown in the solicitor-client relationship.”
Although, as Castanet reports, the trial is set to recommence in July, Sears’ application to have his name changed on the indictment, citing his “equality rights” outlined in Section 16 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, may cause further delays.
In response to Sears’ request, Crown prosecutor David Grabavac expressed during an appearance this week that he is “not unsympathetic” to Sears’ reasoning for wanting to change his name but doesn’t believe the timing was right to bring forth his application.
“This is a novel legal issue which may have far-reaching consequences … I’ve never seen Section 15 of the Charter used like this in a criminal matter,” explained Grabavac. “We haven’t had a chance to research this issue … we’re going to need a couple weeks to figure out what position, if any, we have on this.”
Continuing, Grabavac expressed that given the gravity of the situation and the brutality of the murder, getting the trial completed promptly needs to be a priority.
“The priority, with the greatest respect to everyone, should be getting the trial completed as soon as possible … I don’t know how much research is going to have to go into this and if we’re spending a day or two fighting over this in a few weeks, that’s taking away from trial prep.”
In addition to Sears having several issues committing to legal representation, Justice Ross, the former judge on the case, is stepping down per a constitutional amendment that requires all judges to retire at 75 years old. As a result of this change, Sears will have the authority to decide whether to continue with the proceedings that started last fall or start the trial over.
Although it is unclear how Sears plans to proceed, and his new attorney Frances Mahon, said that future deliberations are as of yet undecided, Sears will likely ask civilian witnesses to re-testify and will “consent to allowing forensic evidence and RCMP testimony to carry over from last fall.”
Sears is currently scheduled to make a court appearance in two weeks, which will clarify how the trial will proceed moving forward.

Famed Spanish writer Lucía Etxebarria is breathing a sigh of relief after a Las Palmas court ruled in her favor after she was sued by a “non-binary trans person” for misgendering him. The plaintiff, Marcos Ventura, launched the suit seeking 11,000 Euros for pain and suffering, but has now been ordered to pay Etxebarria’s legal costs.
As previously reported by Reduxx, Ventura is a transvestite who defines himself as a “non-binary trans person who uses feminine pronouns and grammatical gender to refer to himself.” He had launched a lawsuit against Etxebarria last year for an alleged crime against the “right to dignity, equal treatment and non-discrimination.” Ventura’s claims were based on a 2020 post on social media Etxebarria had written in which she identified him as a “man.”
According to The Objective, the judge ruled that the Etxebarria’s statements complied with “the necessary finding of a sufficient factual basis on which to express public opinion.” The judge also agreed that Ventura had sufficiently male aesthetics and physical attributes which would lead a reasonable person to correctly identify him as being male.
The judge dismissed the lawsuit and ordered Ventura to pay the costs of the proceedings.
Ventura, who refused the initial possibility of a settlement agreement, had requested 11,000 Euros in damages for having been “subjected to public harassment and scorn, multiple insults and numerous offensive comments derived from the public exposure and the target that the defendant put” on him, by “exposing [him] to her hundreds of thousands of followers.”
But the judge refuted Ventura’s claims, asserting that there was no possibility a crime had been committed and disagreeing that Ventura had suffered any damages. Ventura will be allowed to appeal the decision.
Etxebarria’s lawyer, Guadalupe Sanchez, praised the ruling, noting that “this sentence, although not final and subject to appeal, is an important step in the defense and prevalence of freedom of expression against those who want to impose censorship based on identity issues.”
In a statement from Etxebarria given to The Objective, the writer thanked the supporters who stood by her through the taxing trial.
“But above all I want to make one thing clear: this ruling is particularly significant because it creates a precedent. And I believe this because, if I had not won, a different sentence could have been used to impose ideological criteria and to carry out personal vendettas, at least this is my personal opinion,” she wrote.
As an example, Etxebarria referenced the recent bizarre case of a trans-identified male convicted of a hate crime against another trans-identified male for refusing to affirm his gender identity.
As previously reported by Reduxx, the Barcelona High Court sentenced a male who claims to be transgender to six months in prison after he was found guilty of committing a crime “against fundamental human rights and public freedoms” for posting “transphobic” comments on social networks.
Referring to the case, Etxebarria explains that “the transsexual woman was sentenced to pay 720 euros and to undergo a ‘re-education course’ – in a Stalinist or Maoist fashion – to ‘cure [his] transphobia.’ And to six months in jail (which [he] will not serve because [he] accepted the re-education course). The judges charged [him] with a crime against moral integrity, according to article 173 of the Penal Code.”
Etxebarria concludes by noting that “ideological laws” are intended to fulfill two purposes. “One, to destroy the core beliefs of the population in order to more easily subdue them. And two, to gaslight people.”

A trans-identified male is set to compete in a national women’s water polo championship this weekend, shortly after becoming a women’s chess champion in Michigan. Alicia, formerly Johnny, Paans, is a star member of the University of Michigan’s Women’s Water Polo club team.
Paans, 31, is expected to appear at the 2024 National Collegiate Water Polo Championships (CWPA), which will be held from May 3 to 5 at Texas A&M University. The competition includes 16 US-based teams vying for the women’s national title in their sport. Paans’ first game will be against Texas State University on May 3 at 9:00 GMT.
Paans also competed on the University of Michigan team in 2023, during which time they won the national women’s title against the University of California-Santa Barbara. In the same competition, Paans was noted to have scored goals in a 17 to 5 defeat against the University of Virginia, and in a 17 to 6 defeat against the University of Washington.
While it is unclear when Paans began to identify as a “woman,” a 2013 Facebook post reveals that friends still referred to him by his birth name while congratulating him for beginning his secondary education in his home nation of the Netherlands. Paans appears to have immigrated from Europe to California in 2017 when he began an internship for Volo San Diego — a social sports club — and has remained in the country for education ever since. In 2023, he began a social work degree at the University of Michigan.
According to the Independent Council on Women’s Sports (ICONS), the parents of Paans’ opponents have confirmed that he uses the female locker rooms and facilities when he competes.
Speaking to Reduxx, Jennifer, the mother of a female water polo athlete who participated in the 2023 national championship with Paans, explained it had been “obvious” that Paans was male from the moment she had seen him. Jennifer’s full name is being withheld for the protection of her daughter.
“My husband and I saw him first, standing aside the pool before [University of Michigan’s] first game. We looked at each other in surprise, and immediately knew it was a man,” she says, adding: “I observed Alicia quite a bit over the tournament, partly out of concern for the women, and also wondering how his teammates acted around him.”
Jennifer says she had been distressed by the thought that her daughter might have been forced to participate against a male, and was “relieved” when the match-up did not come to fruition.
“None of these women were initially aware a man had been allowed to play,” Jennifer noted. “Many of the player’s on my daughter’s team were almost in shock at the situation, and spoke to one another about discomfort with it. But to my knowledge, no one spoke to the organizers of the tournament. They felt that nothing would be done given that it was allowed based on [CWPA] policy.”
In January of 2024, the CWPA released a transgender athlete policy which explicitly allowed males to compete in women’s categories. The policy reads: “Transgender athletes who identify as female are eligible to compete in both the Co-ed League and the Women’s League.”
Trans identified males are also required to provide a “letter of confirmation” regarding their gender identity, either from the athlete or, if underage, a parent or guardian; proof of testosterone levels below 10 nmol/L within 60 days of competition; and a physician’s note to prove that the athlete is starting “physical gender transitioning/testosterone suppression.” The association purports to ensure “fairness, respect, and equal opportunities for all.”
The policy has been slammed by ICONS as a “pathway for men” to enter women’s water polo.
In an official statement, ICONS condemned the CWPA, highlighting the safety risks associated with allowing males to self-identify into contact sports.
“The Collegiate Water Polo Association has made it clear in their policy that they do not prioritize safe or fair competition for women in water polo,” said ICONS co-founder Marshi Smith. “Their discriminatory policy announcement came after they had crowned the University of Michigan team with a national title, despite utilizing a male player – a secret weapon not accessible to other women’s teams in the tournament.”
Smith continues that despite water polo being a high-contact sport, female athletes were thrown into the water with no disclosure of the added risks of competing against a male.
“This year’s national championships are shaping up to be a tragic deja vu of domination for the female opponents who simply seek a fair chance to succeed.”

No te hará quedar bien.

A trans-identified male inmate serving three life sentences for crimes against women has filed a discrimination lawsuit in an attempt to be transferred into the general population among female prisoners. Thomas Preston Lamb, also known as Michelle Renee Lamb, is currently detained in a women’s facility in Topeka, Kansas, but has been kept separate from the female inmates — an arrangement Lamb deems unacceptable.
Lamb, 82, alleges he is being discriminated against by the staff of Topeka Correctional Facility and the Kansas Department of Corrections on the grounds that he is being held in restricted housing instead of being allowed to frequently interact with incarcerated women.
Lamb first filed his legal claim against Governor Laura Kelly, Topeka Correctional Facility, and the Kansas Department of Corrections last November, and a ruling is expected to be reached by early May.
Authorities at Topeka Correctional Facility (TCF) made the decision to separate Lamb from the female prison population due to both his history as a sex offender and his conduct while in prison. Lamb, who was quietly transferred into the female prison estate in January of 2023, has repeatedly ignored no-contact orders and has been sexually harassing female correctional officers. On at least one occasion, he was charged with lewd conduct with a female inmate.
According to a report by the Kansas Department of Corrections (KDOC), the warden at Topeka Correctional Facility had intended to house the convicted killer among the general population of female inmates, but became concerned after he refused to answer questions about his crimes during an intake evaluation used to assess a prisoner’s psychological condition.
Prison officials said Lamb’s refusal to answer questions about his past was “worrying” because his “most serious crimes are violent actions specifically against women, and because this would be the first time in 50 years that Plaintiff would be co-habitating with women … Plaintiff’s refusal to answer was a red flag.”
The report also explained that Lamb’s security risk classification, which labels him a potential threat to the women held at TCF, was due to the nature of his crimes and the potential risk to other inmates. Lamb was then placed in restrictive housing with the aim of eventually integrating him into the general female population.
However, Lamb’s security risk status remains in place because his conduct has been “predatory towards another resident and manipulative towards security staff,” an allegation that Lamb has disputed in a Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) complaint.
Lamb has had a disciplinary report for violating a rule against lewd activity by giving a female inmate “a hug that continue[d] through another squeeze — appearing to be a ‘double hug.'”
Lamb additionally had repeatedly asked a corrections officer if his genitals “looked good and natural” as a result of the surgery he had, and posed questions to a different officer about her own anatomy and sexual habits. The ongoing sexual remarks led to an order from supervisor Major Dona Hook that Lamb must always be escorted by two female prison officers.
In a hand-written complaint dated September 2023, Lamb argued that his designation as a security risk, established just two months after he was transferred into the women’s prison in January of last year, constituted a “hate crime” against him.
“This is a grievance against everyone involved in placing me on OSR [other security risk] and HR [housing restriction] status, and keeping me on this status for what is now six months,” Lamb wrote. “I request I be placed on general population status immediately, and all information used to place me on this OSR status be removed from my file.”
In a separate grievance letter filed the same month, Lamb claimed that the restrictions placed on him were so “severe” that he had been suffering from anxiety, had developed rashes and elevated blood pressure, and was at risk of death by heart attack or stroke. He also stated he had begun experiencing chronic diarrhea as a result of his lack of access to the women’s general population.
“I have had numerous bouts of diarrhea due to my high levels of depression, anxiety, and stress caused by this toxic and restrictive environment,” Lamb wrote. “I’m being treated as if I’m public enemy number one here at TCF, being escorted by two officers all the time. I feel miserable and wake up crying at night. I’m denied the most basic need, especially for us females: the need to have close contact and relationships with other females.”
Court records indicate that Lamb had developed a relationship with a troubled 30-year old woman with a history of disruptive behavior. This situation had caused Lamb to “repeatedly break restrictive housing no-contact rules and orders.”
Prison officials also noted that Lamb had already been allowed multiple exceptions to housing rules, including permission to buy makeup and earrings. Since claiming a female identity in 2006, Lamb has been provided with “female undergarments” by the Kansas Department of Corrections (KDOC) while incarcerated, with the intimate clothing described as “therapeutic for Lamb’s gender dysphoria.” He has also been provided with estrogen and testosterone-blocking drugs.
In response to Lamb’s grievances, warden David McCabe noted that Lamb was being offered time out of his cell, time outdoors, group interactions, and “full access to medical and mental health practitioners,” and urged Lamb to “engage in positive interactions and activities” in order to work towards having his risk status removed.
Leading up to his November lawsuit, Lamb had been threatening prison officials in an attempt to increase his access to the female prison population.
In July of 2023, Lamb sent three letters to TCF Reentry Coordinator Angela Golightley, and the supervisor for his Unit Team Manager Linda Hull-Viera, who had filed the disciplinary report against him. In the letters, Lamb complained that his health was seriously impaired by his restrictions and offered an out-of-court settlement to his demands.
If the administrators did not comply with his wishes, Lamb threatened to “send the ACLU a copy of my lawsuit.” The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has been behind multiple lawsuits across the United States which have resulted in male rapists and criminals being transferred into women’s prisons.
The letters expressed that if Golightley removed Lamb’s security risk status, expunged the history from his record, supported him for a parole release within the year, and transferred him into the general population, “it will all go away.”
Lamb, in a sinister tone, encouraged Golightley to personally meet with him: “Come see me so we can come to an agreement, and this can all stop now. It’s up to you.” He further threatened to pass information about his lawsuit on to a reporter, Blaise Mesa, for Kansas City Beacon, “so he can do the story he wants to do… It will not make you look good. I have his word.”
In his lawsuit, Lamb has claimed to be represented by Legal Director at the ACLU of Kansas, Sharon Brett, though no evidence to support this claim exists. In recent months, her listed biography on the ACLU Kansas website was made hidden behind a login and password prompt.
Lamb, who is described as “female” in the state Criminal Justice Information System and referred to as a “transgender female” in court records, was convicted of kidnapping and murdering Karen Sue Kemmerly, a 24 year-old student at the University of Kansas-Missouri, around December 5, 1969.
Lamb murdered Kemmerly after she commented he was a “handsome man,” and told him he was “very capable sexually,” which sent him into a violent rage as he saw himself as a woman. Lamb strangled the woman to death, and left her nude corpse in a cornfield. The young student’s body was found approximately five days after her death on December 7.
In addition to Kemmerly, Lamb was also convicted on charges of kidnapping 18-year-old Patricia Ann Childs on January 15, 1970. Childs was returned to her family after her father paid out a $3,500 ransom demanded by Lamb. During the ordeal, Lamb bound Childs’ hands and raped her, according to court documents, though he was never formally charged for the sexual assault.
Lamb was ultimately convicted of two counts of kidnapping and one count of first degree murder, and is now serving three consecutive life sentences in prison. While in prison, Thomas Preston Lamb began going by Michelle Renee Lamb, and in July 2006, filed for a legal name change.
Yet despite claiming to be a woman and undergoing genital surgery and hormone supplements, Lamb’s record of violence against women indicates a disturbing pattern of sadistic sexual pathology.
On February 25, 1970, Lamb was ordered to undergo a psychiatric evaluation. Lamb, who waived his right to a jury trial, was interviewed by Dr. Joseph Satten, a psychiatrist specializing in criminology at the Menninger Foundation in Topeka, who filmed the exchange. The video was shown in court as evidence to support an insanity plea. Before playing the recording for the spectators, Judge Harold Riggs warned of “vulgar and obscene” content.
“In my opinion, the defendant’s thinking was severely disturbed at the time of the crimes and he did not have the normal knowledge of the nature and quality of his acts alleged to have been committed,” Satten testified. “Now, as to the second element, as to knowing whether they’re wrong, I’m a little more uncertain.”
Lamb told Satten that he “thought he was a girl” when he carried out the crimes against the two women. It was Satten’s view that Lamb was “intelligent” and aware of the crimes he committed. However, he emphasized “peculiarities” in his personality.
“At times, during the course of the kidnappings, there must have been some awareness that what he was doing was wrong. But during both of the kidnappings, he was in a peculiar state of mind in which he felt himself to be a girl,” Satten said.
The doctor went on to blame the “female version” of Lamb for the crimes, insinuating that the “male version” of Lamb was not mentally present during the time of the offenses.
“Maybe ‘she’ knew the nature and quality of it, maybe ‘she’ knew what was being done was wrong, but the normal Thomas Lamb, I believe, probably did not,” Satten added.
The doctor continued that Lamb had an “overriding preoccupation that all of his problems revolved around the need to have a sex reassignment operation.” In a seemingly contradictory statement, Satten said that Lamb did not hold prejudices against women, but believed “they have all the advantages.”
The convicted killer has repeatedly used the legal system to his advantage. In a 2017 motion filed by Lamb against the KDOC, he alleged that his Eighth Amendment rights against cruel and unusual punishment were being violated. Lamb had demanded “more comprehensive treatment of [his] gender dysphoria, access to more female items in prison, recognition of [his] name change, and transfer to a female-only prison facility.”
Lamb’s original 2017 request to be transferred to a women’s correctional facility was initially denied by District Judge Eric Melgren. In the decision, it was stated that “Lamb is not entitled to transfer to a female facility.”
He continued, referring to Lamb with feminine pronouns: “Thomas was ordered to serve three life sentences so that he would never kill or hurt another woman again. Thomas is now Michelle, but Michelle is still a convicted kidnapper and murderer of women, and the justification for her sentence has not changed.”

A disabled Pennsylvanian woman is speaking out after Planned Parenthood Keystone dismissed her from medical treatment over what they allege are “anti-trans and transphobic” views. The woman, who uses the pseudonym Jane Lane, had been receiving healthcare at the Pennsylvania clinic for over a decade.
Lane shared a letter she says she received from Trish Tashjian, the Chief Operating Officer of Planned Parenthood Keystone on April 11.
“To ensure the highest level of patient care, I want to inform you that Planned Parenthood Keystone will no longer be available to serve you as your healthcare provider, effective 4/11/2024,” Tashjian wrote.
“The dismissal from services is due to repeated offensive conversations and symbols that contradict our commitment to creating an inclusive and compassionate environment for both staff and patients. Numerous complaints from staff members have been received, and a recent complaint from a patient regarding your anti-trans and transphobic rhetoric and symbols has been brought to our attention. Resources below are recommendations for choosing a new healthcare provider. We will be available to see you in case of medical emergencies until 5/10/2024. We will transfer your medical records to your new healthcare provider upon receipt of a signed authorization to do so.”
The letter was initially shared on X by @TTExulansic, who also included photos of the shirts Lane had occasionally worn to her appointments. Among the shirts were those with slogans “Make Women Female Again”; “Woman: Adult Human Female”; and “100% Natural Woman, Female Original.”
But Lane says she witnessed a Planned Parenthood staff member with yellow and purple hair wearing similarly politicized t-shirts and jewelry, including a “smash the gender binary” pin and “they/them” pronoun earrings.
Lane has revealed that Planned Parenthood Keystone cancelled an upcoming medical appointment and barred her from booking further appointments online. She also alleged that she received zero warning, that no attempt was made to accommodate her beliefs prior to her termination, and that no official Planned Parenthood policy documents were provided or explained to her.
Lane suffers from several health diagnoses, including Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and had been accessing the clinic for birth control injections for the past decade.
In an email with Reduxx, Lane described how she had conversations about “men in women’s prisons, sports, and locker rooms” while she was at the clinic, but added that she hadn’t intended to offend anyone. She said that she even apologized to staff for sharing “gross information” after talking about genital surgeries performed on transgender identified men and women on a single occasion.
She denied being transphobic, adding that her concerns about gender ideology had to do with the safeguarding of women and children.
“I am absolutely terrified of men in women’s spaces, the erosion of women’s rights, and the abuse of children that is all being done under the name of trans,” said Lane.
Lane is now seeking legal advice. She said she is thankful to have been able to find alternate healthcare after being fired as a patient from Planned Parenthood Keystone.
According to their website, “The mission of Planned Parenthood Keystone is to provide and promote access to the essential reproductive health care services and comprehensive sexuality education people need to live healthy lives and build strong communities.” There are no policies about inclusion or patient conduct on the site.
Planned Parenthood Keystone has not responded to a request for comment at the time of publication.

A 14-year-old girl who identifies as a “drag king” and is being transitioned to a “boy” has reportedly been performing sexually suggestive shows at LGBT clubs and bars across Vancouver, Canada. The minor, who is disabled and autistic, goes by “he/him/they/it” pronouns and is taking testosterone under the permission of her mother.
The child, who was born female but identifies as a “boy,” uses the stage name “Nova Tropica” and has performed in at least three LGBT bars in Vancouver, all of which are adult venues that serve alcohol. Among the clubs Nova has danced at are The Fountainhead Pub, Steamworks brewpub, and The Junction.
According to Gays Against Groomers, during her performance at The Foundationhead Pub, a gay bar located on Davie Street, the child danced with only tape covering the front of her breasts.
Nova maintains a YouTube channel where she often uploads footage of her performances.
In August of 2023, she shared a video of her dancing on stage in a bar to the song “Bubblegum B*tch” and is seen collecting dollar bills from audience members. In another video, Nova is seen dancing alone to the Britney Spears’ controversial song “If U Seek Amy,” which is intended to sound out the letters “F-U-C-K me.”
In some of the videos posted to her YouTube account, she is seen dancing to an adult crowd wearing only a cut-out bathing suit, an outfit she has also posed in for photos shared to her social media while wearing clear, stiletto “pleasers,” a form of platform high-heel most frequently associated with stripping, pole dancing, and the sex trade.
As well as posting footage of her performances to YouTube, Nova also maintains an Instagram page where she posts clips of herself dancing on stage while exclusively adult crowds cheer her on. In many of the videos, Nova is wearing revealing clothing and, during one performance, she even spreads her legs for the audience.
“The only way they could even correlate is through the way I view my gender,” Nova said in the caption of one post where she described herself as a “demon boy” and said she’s “everything Lucifer wants her to be.”
In another post, in which she wears a cut-out swimsuit she has performed in, Nova said she “loves” how testosterone is starting to affect her muscle definition.
Nova’s transition has been supported by her mother Chrysta. On her own Instagram page, Chrysta posted about how she had been struggling to access hormones for her daughter since she was just 11 years old.
In the post, Chrysta acknowledges that Nova is experiencing poor mental health, but attributes her condition to “being born in the wrong body.” She also condemns the Canadian political parties attempting to pass legislation which would protect children from medical transitioning.
“I will not allow any government to MURDER my child,” Chrysta said in one post. “Forcing a child to live in a body that is not authentic to their person is MURDER.”
The post was made in reference to the People’s Party of Canada, which developed a 7-point plan to protect women and children from the harmful effects of gender ideology, such as banning men from women’s spaces and sports and banning genital mutilation surgeries and cross-sex hormones for minors.
Not only has Chrysta facilitated Nova’s transition, but she also confesses to monitoring her social media, meaning she is aware of the inappropriate videos and photos being posted online of her minor daughter.
In one post, she addressed rumors that an adult Drag King had behaved inappropriately in messages with her young daughter, claiming the concerns were “false accusations.”
But her notice was not the only suggestion that Nova has been in contact with adult drag performers.
On Instagram, Nova spoke about attending a youth summer “drag camp” hosted by “Rose Butch” and “DeeDee LaCraze.”
DeeDee LaCraze also operates a YouTube channel called “Drag4Kids” where he has made multiple videos in full drag singing nursery rhymes. LaCraze hosts his youth drag camp along side Rose Butch, a trans identified female who calls herself a “non-binary drag thing.”
The summer camp, held in July 2023, was made available for children as young as 7.
Arguably one of the most well-known “drag kids” is Desmond Napoles, who goes by the name “Desmond is Amazing.” Desmond rose to fame at only 11 years old in 2017 after being featured on RuPaul’s Drag Race. Soon after, the child appeared in YouTube and Facebook streams alongside adult men, and was even filmed joking about snorting ketamine.
With the increase in “drag kids” has come further scrutiny of the sexual predators involved in the drag scene. In 2022, a “drag kid” mentor and a former elementary school teaching assistant faced child pornography charges following an investigation into exploitative material shared on the internet.
