One of the most dangerous inmates in Scotland has been approved for transfer from the male prison estate to a female correctional facility Scotland.
Tiffany Scott, 31, born Andrew Burns, is one of only around 100 offenders in Scotland subject to an Order for Lifelong Restriction (OLR). The order means that, regardless of his sentence length, he will only be released when he is no longer considered an “unmanageable risk to public safety.”
Burns was initially sentenced for multiple convictions of assaults, vandalism, and resisting arrests. In 2010, he assaulted a nurse in a hospital in Crewe, Cheshire while he was still known under his male name. He began identifying as transgender and changed his name to Tiffany Scott sometime in 2016.
In 2013, while still in custody, Burns began stalking a 13 year old girl from his prison cell. He began writing her disturbing letters from Polmont Prison, near Falkirk. He was sentenced to an additional 14 months for the crime.
Between August and October 2015, Burns asked prison staff to refer to him as “Mighty Almighty,” or “Obi Wan Kenobi.” Prison staff complied with his requests that he should be known within the jail as “Mr. Mighty Almighty,” and referred to him as such.
During this time in a segregation unit in Clackmannanshire’s top-security Glenochil Prison, Burns smeared excrement over his cell, tore a drip needle out of his own arm, and ripped up clothing that was supposedly tear-proof.
“It’s supposed to be untearable, but Tiffany could rip it up no problem,” stated Prison Officer Paul Locke at the time.
He also assaulted four wardens and a prison nurse during a “dirty protest” at Glenochil Prison, Clackmannanshire, and assaulted a jail nurse by striking her on the back with a chair. During his violent tirade, Burns went on to assaulted another officer, Kenneth Hilton, by punching him in the face as Hilton sat at a desk doing paperwork. Burns also assaulted multiple other officers.
In 2017, Burns was put on trial for the incidents that occurred while he was in prison, but the case was initially dropped as he was considered “too dangerous for the dock.” It was later re-tried after outrage from prison union officials.
He was put on trial again later on that year, and during the hearing the public was not allowed to attend as Burns was known to “to bite open his own veins and spray blood at people.”
During his sentencing hearing for the 2015 rampage, Burns displayed violent outbursts whenever he was referred to as “he” rather than “she.”
Burns verbally abused the judge during sentencing, calling him a “fucking transphobe bastard” and “cunt” as he was handed an additional year on five charges of assault and one of criminal damage. As he was led away following his sentencing, he attempted to attack one of the officers.
Burns has made multiple failed attempts to be transferred to a female prison over the years.
According to theDaily Record, Burns’ latest attempt was approved during the height of the ongoing debate in Scotland over reforms to the gender recognition act. The Scottish government had passed the gender recognition act reform bill, which would make it easier for Scottish citizen’s to legally “change their gender” despite concerns from women’s rights groups that this move would put women and children at risk.
For the first time in 25 years, the UK government stepped in and blocked the bill over fears it would have an impact on wider UK legislation, such as the Equality Act 2010. The move sent shockwaves across the country as devolved nations, such as Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland, are typically given the authority to self-govern.
Only weeks after the bill was blocked, a Scottish rapist became the subject of international outrage after it was learned her was being placed in Scotland’s all-female Cornton Vale prison. Adam Graham, also known as Isla Bryson, began identifying as a woman while on trial for raping two women.
News of the transfer was so widespread that Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon, who has been a strong proponent of gender self-identification policies in the nation, intervened and condemned the move.
“Given the understandable public and parliamentary concern, in this case, I can confirm to Parliament that this prisoner will not be incarcerated at Cornton Vale women’s prison,” Sturgeon said, addressing parliament on January 26.
Despite the rapist’s last minute transfer out of a women’s institution, and promises to ensure rigorous assessments of transgender male inmates in the future, Burns’ transfer was readily approved.
Burns is the fourth violent male inmate in Scotland making headlines for identifying as transgender in less than two weeks.
In addition to “Isla Brynton,” on January 15, a serial rapist who targeted women in changing rooms and restrooms had reportedly begun identifying as transgender and seeking transfer to a women’s prison. Jonathon Mallon, 40, was sentenced to life in prison in 2014 on a slew of rape charges. He has now begun referring to himself as “Charlene” and has allegedly been “bragging” that he will be in a women’s prison by the spring.
Days later, it was revealed that an incarcerated sex offender who abducted and raped his care worker had begun claiming to identify as a “woman,” and demanding cosmetics and a transfer to a women’s institution.
Albert Caballero, 50, is currently detained at Edinburgh Saughton Prison, where he has served half of his sentence and is eligible to apply for parole. But Caballero is reportedly now boasting to fellow inmates that he will be transferred to a women’s prison prior to his release after abruptly claiming a transgender identity. Now calling himself “Claire,” Caballero has been demanding red lipstick from the prison.

The trans-identified male at the center of controversy after using the women’s locker rooms at a California YMCA has a disturbing social media history, Reduxx has found.
On January 11, video clips from a Santee City Council meeting went viral on social media after a teen girl took to the podium to report her concerns about a trans-identified male who had been allowed to use the women’s facilities at the local YMCA.
Rebecca Phillips, 17, became emotional as she recounted that she had seen “a naked male in the women’s locker room” one night after finishing her workout and using the showers. Phillips said that when she later questioned YMCA staff about the presence of the male in the women’s facilities, she was told that “he was indeed allowed to shower wherever he pleased.”
The clip led to protests being organized outside of the YMCA by citizens concerned about child safeguarding and women’s rights to single-sex spaces. On January 18, Christynne Lili Wrene Wood, 66, came forward during one of the protests and stated: “I’m the scary transgender woman who that child misidentified as a man.”
As previously reported by Reduxx, Wood, a Navy veteran, had won a lawsuit against a fitness center who refused him access to the women’s locker rooms, and received an undisclosed amount by way of financial compensation in 2021.
The lawsuit alleged that the Crunch Fitness gym and its owner, John Romeo, discriminated against Wood on the basis of his self-declared “gender identity” by denying him access to the women’s locker rooms and bathrooms.
On Wednesday evening, residents of Santee gathered again at a city council meeting to share their views on the incident during a public comment session. Wood was allowed to speak first, and was granted three minutes of podium time — one full minute more than other speakers were allowed.
In his statement, Wood condemned what he called “disgusting … organized hatred and lies” which he said were intended to “demonize” him and to “vilify members of the transgender community.” Wood also claimed to be a “mom” and a “grandmom.”
While addressing the city council, Wood was flanked by supporters who held up signs reading “We [heart] Chrissy” and waving transgender pride flags.
“Please look at me. Listen to the sound of my voice. I am a threat to no one. In the year I’ve been a member of the Y, children have attended summer camp and have been with their parent and grandparents in the women’s locker room with me, and there has never been an incident,” Wood said.
Several of Wood’s supporters spoke in his defense during the meeting.
One water aerobics instructor, Peggy Wiley, stated that she had been in the locker room during the incident Rebecca Phillips had described. She says Phillips had asked her if Wood was “a man,” to which Wiley responded: “No that’s a woman.”
A man with a trans pride flag sticking out of his jacket pocket also took to the podium and defended Wood’s presence in the women’s locker room. Jason Frye, President of the Humanist Association of San Diego, called Phillips dehumanizing names during his address.
“We need to protect people. We do not protect creepy little voyeurs spying on people in restrooms, causing problems, but people just minding their own business,” Frye said.
“I would recommend that the city take some kind of stance to say that that type of bigotry is not acceptable here, because it is clear that that type of license leads to suicide attempts,” Frye continued. “For those people who are calling to see people’s genitalia, I want to see your browser histories, because it seems like you’re quite obsessed with this.”
Reduxx has now found that Wood has a disturbing digital footprint which includes sexualizing young girls and rape.
During a deep-dive of Wood’s social media history, Reduxx uncovered multiple photos uploaded by Wood of little girls, often donning adult dress. The pictures were usually superimposed with bizarre captions in which Wood compared himself to the children.
In other instances, Wood paired a photo of himself next to the image of a little girl with a fair complexion and blue eyes.
“What will your daughter look like?” reads one caption. Another says, “What did you look like as a baby?” and depicts a toddler in highly sexualized adult attire.
One photo, captioned “What would your baby version look like? This is baby version Christynne” shows a young girl sitting on what appears to be a toy car, wearing ripped jeans and an off-shoulder top.
Even a friend of Wood’s took issue with the photo, commenting: “Sexualizing a child is just wrong.” Wood responded, “Not everyone agrees that this is sexualization of a child! I completely disagree with your interpretation of this photo!”
Other images shared by Wood place his photo next to that of a pregnant woman. In a 2020 post, Wood says he will finish the year “pregnant” and suggests he will give birth to baby girls.
Some posts have a more overtly sexual theme. One photo posted appears to be from an online gimmick quiz taken by Wood, with the caption reading: “How perverted are you?” Wood’s score reads “637%” perverted, detailing that “even the most innocent of moments can turn into something raunchy around you.”
Wood’s social media history reveals that he has an apparent friendship with another self-described “crossdresser” and “transgender” who sometimes calls Wood his “lovely wife.” Arlyn Weis and Wood have an extensive history interacting on Facebook, commenting and liking each other’s posts.
Disturbingly, Weis frequently uploads images of terrified young women bound and gagged in photoshoots intended to look like sexual assaults or kidnappings.
On his own account, Wood posted a cartoon referencing “feminization,” a genre of porn in which males are often forcibly transitioned to fulfill a sexual fetish. The image shows two characters who appear to be female, with the caption reading: “I told you can trust me and everything would turn out just perfect. The feminization turned you into my perfect partner. You no longer have even a slight hint of masculinity, you look great!”
The post was liked by Weis, who commented, “For sure.”
Other posts of Wood’s found by Reduxx include a photo of women’s underwear laid out on his bed, as well as some making reference to pole dancing and pornography. Wood also posted photos of himself wearing a schoolgirl uniform while at work.
Amongst Wood’s visible Facebook friends includes a number of men who consider themselves “sissies” and “crossdressers,” and who post almost purely pornographic content of both themselves and sexualized young women.
During the Santee City Council meeting on Wednesday, some speakers who took the podium disagreed that men like Wood should be granted access to areas where women and girls undress and shower.
Former Miss California, Carrie Prejean Boller, moved to speak and declared that she was “identifying as Chistynne Wood” and as such should be allowed to speak for three minutes instead of the two-minute limit the public had been granted.
“This is a war on women, children, and the truth, and the enemy is disguised in high heels, lipstick, and a shaved beard,” Boller said.
“I am a woman, a true woman, and I’m here tonight because I have something called a motherly instinct. This is about the protection of children and women,” she stated, and called for single-sex facilities to remain the standard policy. “It doesn’t matter if you chop your penis off, it doesn’t make you a woman, it makes you unwell.”
Tracie Thill, who organized a January 18 rally against gender identity policies along with members of Santee Parents 4 Choice, called on city council members to decline to renew the property lease on the YMCA building “until a policy is changed so that biological men stay out of women’s locker rooms and bathrooms.”
Two days ago, Wood gave a statement to the Times of San Diego in which he denounced the 17-year-old girl who had raised complaints as a “little witch” who had spread “lies from the very beginning.”

A vigil was held Wednesday night in Cardiff, Wales to mourn the loss of a drag queen convicted of raping a young boy.
Darren Moore was found dead on the evening of Sunday, January 22, on the streets of Cardiff City Centre. When found, Moore was wearing his full drag costume.
Police launched an investigation into Moore’s death, and subsequently arrested a 50-year-old man on suspicion of murder. The suspect has since been granted bail and released pending further inquiries from South Wales Police. Investigators have cautioned people against speculation, and have stated that there is no “obvious cause of death” that has yet been revealed or confirmed.
Media coverage of Moore’s death was largely focused on his career as a well-known drag queen and member of the Cardiff gay scene, with many outlets, including theGuardian, failing to note that he was also a convicted child sex offender.
As previously revealed by Reduxx, Moore was once known as Darren Sewell, and had been convicted of four counts of rape on a boy under the age of 14 while living in South Wales in 1999. As a result, he spent 3 years in a Young Offenders’ Institution. Following his offense, Moore was also banned from having contact with children.
But in 2011, he was caught working with youth as a gymnastics and dance instructor and was convicted of breaching the lifetime order. He was sentenced to a three-year sex offender’s treatment program, a 24-month supervision order, 300 hours of community service, and a six-month curfew with an electronic tag.
Despite Moore’s conviction, he went on to become a popular drag queen, performing under the names Crystal Couture, CC Quinn and Dolly.
In 2020, Moore exhibited his hand-made drag jewelry at RuPaul’s Dragcon in London. Two years prior, Moore had been booked to represent British Airways at a Pride festival in Brighton. The company would later distance themselves from him after discovering his past, and clarified part of the reason why they were unaware was due to his name change.
Following Moore’s death, there was an outpouring of grief amongst some in Cardiff’s LGBT community.
The Golden Cross, Wales’ oldest bar catering to gay men, issued a statement on Twitter expressing sadness over Moore’s loss, writing: “We are deeply saddened to learn of Darren Moore’s passing … Many of you will know of his longstanding support of the Golden. He was the life and soul of the party and would always be entertaining the masses, usually accompanied with a round of shots.”
The statement appears to have since been deleted.
On January 25, dozens of mourners gathered at Windsor Place to pay their respects to Moore. Amongst them were fellow drag queens and members of Cardiff’s gay community.
According to two men at the vigil who were interviewed by theBBC, Moore was very well-known and “liked by everyone.”
Another drag queen told theBBC that Moore’s death was cause for wider concern. Myky Webb, who performs under the drag name Sister Celia, appeared to speculate that it may have been a hate crime.
“It’s also very worrying for Cardiff as a city and for queer people in Cardiff on the scene, to think that this kind of thing still happens in 2023,” Webb said.
Samuel, who performs under the name Aida H. Dee, is one of the country’s most prominent drag queens. Samuel routinely reads to children in public libraries and other family-friendly venues while dressed in full drag. Just weeks before Moore’s passing, Samuel announced he was going to be reading to children at the Tate gallery in London.
On Facebook, Samuel grieved over Moore’s death, calling him a “friend,” and posting multiple heartfelt tributes to him.
In one post, Samuel revealed Moore had crafted him jewelry, including the “ADHD” necklace he is often seen wearing in official Drag Queen Story Hour photos. Based on the styling, Moore was also likely the creator of another piece of jewelry Samuel often wears, a statement necklace reading “PEACE” he most often pairs with his characteristic rainbow costume.
Samuel posted multiple times in support of Moore, and repeatedly directed readers to a GoFundMe created by Moore’s husband.
“Taken unjustly! I’d like to help give my friend the send off he deserves. Please see the link below. This is to support the husband in this horrible horrible time,” Samuel wrote, posting a photo of Moore and his husband, whose name is also Darren Moore.
The GoFundMe, which had an initial goal of £3,000 (approx. $3,700 USD), is currently sitting at just over £6,500 (approx. $8,000 USD), and has received donations from almost 300 people.
Moore’s husband has vocally defended him in light of the revelations of his history of sexual abuse. On January 24, Moore’s husband took to Facebook live to issue a 7-minute statement in which he targeted “media outlets” who mentioned Moore’s past.
“If any of you have a bad word to say against my husband, then just go and crawl under the fucking stone you came from. Darren was the most kind-hearted person you could ever fucking meet. He didn’t have a bad bone in his body,” Moore’s husband says.
“Everyone who loved him now needs to grieve. They don’t need to know about his past. None of you know the ins-and-outs, and none of you are squeaky clean. You can’t tell me any of you have a clean slate. Because each and every one of you who slag him off — you have a past too. And you do not have a clean record.”
Investigations into Moore’s death are still ongoing.

A trans-identified male substitute teacher was banned from King Middle School in Portland, Maine after he shared his highly sexualized TikTok account intentionally with students.
Lydia Lamere, also known as Chris Lamere, wrote his TikTok handle on the whiteboard at the front of the classroom and encouraged students to “check it out,” according to one student.
King Middle School students took to visiting Lamere’s social media at his invitation and began to circulate his suggestive, highly sexual videos in group chats.
One girl who attends King Middle School told her father, Mark Davey, that students were talking about and sharing Lamere’s videos in which he discussed sexual activity and could be seen nearly nude, as reported by The Maine Wire.
“My daughter showed me group text messages where all the students were talking about it,” said Davey.
The student’s father reached out to school principal Caitlin LeClair with several questions about the ordeal, but had not heard from her as of Tuesday. Davey said he would not have been surprised if Lamere was scrubbing his social media at the school’s guidance, perhaps to avoid further trouble for either party.
Davey referred to Lamere as a woman, though, and utilized feminine pronouns: “Her gender or sexuality has nothing to do with why I’m upset…The violation here is the sexualization of children.”
While much of Lamere’s TikTok content was deleted sometime last week after the widespread circulation, students had already downloaded several videos and continued to share them among one another.
In one video the students had been exposed to, Lamere is seen with only a towel on, posing provocatively and talking into a bathroom mirror.
In an email to parents of the school sent on Friday, January 20, principal Caitlin LeClair addressed the fiasco, stating she was made aware of the concerns the day before. “As [Thursday] unfolded, it became apparent that a lot of students were talking about the TikTok account,” LeClair wrote in her email. She made it clear that Lamere would not be returning to the middle school as a result of an “investigation.”
Tess Nacelewicz, communications coordinator for Portland Schools, confirmed details of the removal to Reduxx, noting that “the district has a strict policy on the use of social media by school employees that requires employees to preserve the integrity of the learning environment and maintain professional boundaries with students at all times.”
Nacelewicz stated that the process for vetting substitutes includes interviewing candidates and conducting background checks, but that law enforcement has not been contacted regarding Lemere’s conduct with students.
One account on TikTok appearing to belong to Lamere was being actively scrubbed and made private during the time Reduxx was surveying the content for this report.
As of late Wednesday night, Lemere’s TikTok account @lydia_moon_ had six videos up, five featuring Lamere in front of the camera and one of an animated video. Less than two hours later, Lamere began deleting the comments underneath the videos. Soon after, the account was no longer accessible.
In another video available through cache when Reduxx investigated, the instructor could be heard discussing “kink” and sexual positions, using terms commonly found in BDSM culture.
Lamere’s final video, posted on January 20, coincides with King Middle School Principal LeClair’s January 20 letter of confirmation that Lamere would not be returning to the school.
The former substitute teacher was evidently aware of the consequences that were presenting themselves following the promotion of a sexualized social media account to sixth graders. He fashioned the final post as something of a goodbye to his followers.
“Probably my last video on this account. Love y’all,” Lamere captioned the video, which featured an animation of the tale known as “The Ring of Gyges” from book two of Plato’s Republic. The story tells of a character named Gyges who finds a magic ring that gave him the power to disappear and reappear at the spin of the ring’s stone. Gyges uses the ring and its powers to murder a reigning monarch and take over the kingdom.
A partial transcript from the video reads: “… this story illustrate[s] how people can apparently benefit by acting unjustly. After all, wouldn’t any rational person act like Gyges if presented the opportunity to get what they desired without consequence? The only reason anyone conducts themselves virtuously is due to external influences … So it’s appearing – not actually being – virtuous that matters.”
A popular philosophy website explains that “One of the most famous discussions of justice occurs in Book II of Plato’s The Republic where [it is argued] that there is no intrinsic reason to be just.”
Prior to Lamere’s account being disabled, Reduxx obtained screenshots showcasing a sympathetic user’s comment on Lamere’s calculated, final post before he deleted comments and ultimately wiped the account, in which the user said, “I’m so sorry for what they did to you.”
Another comment read, “Will you be starting another [account]? I don’t comment often but I do enjoy seeing you on here,” to which Lamere answered “I don’t know.”
Lamere has also reportedly gone by the names Chris Lamere, Lydia Moon, Clodagh Moon, and Clodagh Lamere, and has apparently adopted multiple different sexualities and gender identities. Reduxx also found that Lamere once referred to himself as “Thorn.”
Reduxx found the Facebook account belonging to Lamere which has been active for over 10 years, with posts dating back to 2012.
According to the account, which uses the name “Lydia Moon,” the same name from his now-private TikTok, Lamere was raised in New Hampshire, graduated high school in 2007 and went on to anthropology at State University of New York at Plattsburgh which he graduated from in 2011.
Past work experience seems to include being an “environmental educator,” as well as working at a book shop and a pest control company.
Throughout 2016 and 2017, Lamere would post long, multiple-minute videos of himself reading various books out loud in front of the camera.
Lamere moved to Portland, Maine in July of 2020. Since then, Lamere had used his account to post almost exclusively about his identity as a “transgender woman” with several posts relating to his “transition,” including multiple requests for financial assistance.
After settling in Portland, Lamere penned a lengthy message claiming “fascists” were targeting him.
“hello! yes, i’m gay and trans, and mostly I don’t give a fuck about this website. i’m cautious about people who I friended on a whim 8 years ago turning out to be secret fash [fascists] and targeting me.” Lamere wrote, shirking grammar in the rambling text. “HOWEVER: this website has become complicit in far right terrorist activity. using this site has the potential to be extremely dangerous. I URGE you to move off this website as soon as humanly possible. Take a week long break, try not to post, more importantly, try to avoid advertisements. If you talk to your friends and all go over to twitter together, you can form a small community and start hyping each other up. I’m over on twitter at @thicketthorn. Remember that this website also owns the major photo site. I’d love to help you get started on twitter, give you a few pointers for using the site. If you are a friend or family member, make a twitter account as soon as possible.”
In October of 2020, Lamere shared a self-organized fundraising link to fund his laser hair removal and stated that his name was “Thorn.” The message on the fundraiser link, in which over $1000 was raised, says “Hello, I’m Thorn. I’m a few years into my transition, but I’ve found that beginning HRT has kicked these Needs into overdrive. Every day, I wake up and discover that there are more hairs on my cheeks and chin. I would feel so happy and euphoric if I woke up one day and that stopped. Anything helps, and I know that it’s a long process. You can share this gofundme in any platform.”
A few months later, Lamere told Facebook friends, “Just a casual reminder to all my friends and family that my parents kicked me out into a pandemic after I came out as trans. My dad’s kindly paying for the apartment while i’m unemployed after losing my job for asking my coworkers to wear masks …
I know I don’t post on here at all, but maybe I should. I have to change my facebook name for tinder purposes anyways. I’ll add some new pictures, but I’m super hesitant to post about transness over here on Facebook.”
Later that same day, Lamere posted a longer message, following up on the initial call for financial help, in which he shares that he had been on HRT (hormone replacement therapy) for eight months and “[has] been intensely pleased with it.”
He goes on to say that due to his hormone therapy, he is feeling “better physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually [and] sexually,” continuing by writing: “I’m not a predator, I’m just a woman who happens to be super tall and hot.”
He also shared that in response to asking for financial help due to unemployment, “I’ve already gotten more than enough donations from some very generous people, but i’ll drop my c*shapp ( $seajay ) down here again if you’re bored and want to give me money for some reason?”
Later in 2021, Lamere posted a screenshot of a message from Facebook which stated that Lamere could not change his Facebook name again as he had already done so in the past 60 days. He said in the caption “my names Lydia now…sorry im trans lol,” and one user commented “It really is unfortunate and messed up that they don’t allow name changes more often.”
He also posted photos of himself “before progesterone” and “4 months [on] progesterone,” with the comment “very problematic of me to base my assessment of my own femininity on my tits.”
Lamere is not the first trans-identified male teacher in the United States to become the subject of safeguarding concerns.
Willa Hoard, also known as “Billie” was a social studies teacher at Chesapeake High School and ran the school’s GSA (Gay-Straight Alliance) Organization.
Hoard’s classroom was labelled a “safe space” for “LGBTQ+ students” by the school at the direction of the GSA. So regardless of if a student was in class or not, if they reported to a teacher that they needed a “safe space,” they could go to Hoard’s classroom.
But on November 2, disturbing video footage began circulating on Twitter from inside Hoard’s classroom. The videos originated on Facebook, first posted by a concerned mother.
In one video, two students are seen laying on the ground together, with one grinding on or humping the other in the middle of a class lecture. Another clip shows one student sucking at the stomach of another student. Both clips took place while Hoard was present in the room, apparently unconcerned by the behavior.
But the sexual behavior Hoard allowed in his class was just one of many disturbing components of the story. Hoard had apparently been communicating with students through unmonitored channels, in flagrant violation of safeguarding ethics. In some screenshots, students are seen referring to Hoard as “mom” or “mother.”
Although Hoard is not allowed on school grounds, there has been speculation that students have maintained contact with him through private channels.
He remains active on TikTok and has apparently encouraged graduating students to message him directly on Instagram.

A UK-based drag queen well known for his performances to children is fundraising for the funeral costs of a convicted child sex offender he calls his “friend.”
On January 23, drag queen Aida H. Dee, the stage name of performer Sab Samuel, announced on Facebook that he was fundraising for the funeral costs of Darren Moore, a fellow drag queen.
“Taken unjustly!” Samuel wrote in his post. “I’d like to help give my friend the send off he deserves,” he wrote, providing the link to a GoFundMe campaign for Moore and affixing to the post a photo of Moore and his husband.
But what Samuel neglected to mention was that Moore is a convicted child sex offender.
Moore, 39, was found dead in full drag costume on the streets of Cardiff City Centre on the morning of 22 January. Previously known as Darren Sewell, Moore was convicted of four counts of rape on a boy under the age of 14 while living in South Wales. As a result, he spent 3 years in a Young Offenders’ Institution.
Following his offense, Moore was also banned from having contact with children. But in 2011, he was caught working with youth as a gymnastics and dance tutor and was convicted of breaching the lifetime order. He was sentenced to a three-year sex offender’s treatment program, a 24-month supervision order, 300 hours of community service, and a six-month curfew with an electronic tag.
Moore changed his name after he married his husband, who is also named Darren.
At the time of his death, Moore had worked as a jeweler and performed drag under the names Crystal Couture, CC Quinn and Dolly. Moore had exhibited his jewellery at RuPaul’s annual Dragcon event in London in 2020.
As a drag queen, Moore once represented British Airways at a Pride Festival in Brighton in 2018. When his previous convictions came to light, British Airways released a statement saying he did not work for the airline but was brought in by a “third party entertainment agency who supplied a number of people for the event.” They also said they were unaware of his convictions under his previous name.
Also in 2018, audience members walked out of a “Pride Without Prejudice” performance of Moore’s after he made light-hearted comments about child abuser Jimmy Saville.
Investigations are still on-going into Moore’s cause of death, but police have cautioned the public against speculation. Despite this, some members and supporters of the drag queen community have already begun to claim Moore’s death was the result of a “hate crime.”
Upon announcements of his death, the drag queen community, particularly in Cardiff, began mourning the loss of Moore on social media.
Sab Samuel, known as “the story time drag queen” Aida H. Dee, posted on his Facebook page that Moore was “an exuberant human being, taken from the world too early,” adding: “Rest In Power!”
He also shared that he wore jewelry that Moore made for him, and provided a link to a fundraiser to raise money for his funeral costs. Samuel has been seen wearing the ADHD necklace he references in the post at story time events with children and in official Drag Queen Story Hour UK photos.
Just over two hours later, Samuel posted again in memory of the child sex offender, writing: “Taken unjustly! I’d like to help give my friend the send off he deserves. Please see the link below. This is to support the husband in this horrible horrible time.”
The top comment on the post raised awareness of Moore’s previous convictions saying “Lots of media now reporting on this death but referring to him as a convicted pedophile.” Comments have since been disabled on the page.
Samuel shared the link to a Gofundme for Moore a third time today, which reads:
“Anyone who knew Darren would know how he was never understated in his appearance and costume. His larger than life character and charisma was something that you’ll never forget. We’d like to support Darren and the family and give Darren the biggest send off. If you’re able to and can afford a few quid, please donate what you can to ensure we do him proud.”
The fundraiser has already surpassed the £3,000 (approx. $3,700 USD) target and has raised £4,875 (approx. $6,000 USD) at the time of this writing. One donator left a message on the page reading, “Had the pleasure of meeting Darren last year in Gran Canaria, although very briefly, you could just tell what a beautiful soul he truly had.”
Another donor wrote: “Darren was and will always be a very special person to have known and been a friend with, his out there personality was contagious and he was someone who you couldn’t but love.”
Samuel has raised concerns on social media in the past for his conduct around children, with some calling his drag costume inappropriate due to its sometimes prominent genital “bulge.”
Despite tremendous backlash, he continues to be routinely booked for “story hour” gigs in libraries and public venues across the United Kingdom.
Just weeks prior to posting in support of Moore, Samuel, who is the founder of Drag Queen Story Hour UK, announced he was set to perform for children at The Tate Gallery in London.
Concerned parents in the nation opposed to Drag Queen Story Hour have established a group called “Art Not Propaganda” and recently stated they have formally complained to The Tate regarding their decision to host the story hour event.
The parents have established a petition which currently has 3,400 signatures, and lists historical posts made by Samuel the group says raises safeguarding concerns.
“Sab Samuel has shared multiple images and comments on social media which raise serious safeguarding red flags. A teacher would be dismissed for the same,” they wrote in the petition. Amongst the infractions are a Twitter post from July of 2020 which Samuels captions “love has no age.” The parents point out that the phrase was popularized by a group which once campaigned to lower the age of sexual consent.
Do you know what made it really easy to attack @nathansparkling ?
The fact that @DragStoryHourUK intentionally choose to advertise their services for children’s library readings with the line “Love has no age”.
Other groups, such as Safe Schools Alliance UK and the Family Education Trust, have similarly raised concerns about Samuel’s past conduct. On January 13, Samuel responded to the backlash in an interview with Pink News where he blamed the conservative government for enabling “queer hate.”
Just last year, Pink News named Samuel “Leader of the Year” at their annualawards show for his “work with children, helping them fall in love with literature.”
Samuel first rose to infamy after he began touring libraries across the UK to read in his drag persona. He founded the UK branch of Drag Queen Story Hour in 2019, and his enterprise proudly boasts it has been featured by the National Health Service, Greenpeace, Forbes, and more.
In November of 2022, Samuel uploaded a video to Facebook in which he was almost on the verge of tears while recounting his experience hiding his sexuality from a family member’s children.
“I did not want to tell my family member or their children about me being gay because I could have been a danger — I don’t know, it was weird … I think back to that moment, I felt like a disgusting human being. I’d grown up with the idea that being gay was disgusting,” Samuel says. “People wonder why I do drag queen story hours, it’s because of those reasons there. Because I grew up hating who I was. Now, any kids who are queer are not going to grow up with that in their life. I want kids to grow up to love themselves, but to be surrounded by those who love them too.”
As backlash continues to mount against “drag queen story hours” around the world, Samuel’s events have been met with protests.
During one demonstration at Reading Library last year, two protesters managed to interrupt the session while about 25 others continued outside the venue. They were escorted out by staff and the event continued.
There have been similar demonstrations against such events in North America. As a result, antifa militants wielding guns have been seen standing “guard” in front of some venues hosting drag shows for children.

A Scottish man who identifies as transgender has been found guilty of raping two women, and will be held in a women’s prison for up to a month while awaiting sentencing.
Adam Graham, 31, began identifying as a woman after he committed the sexual offenses and now goes by “Isla Bryson.” He has been referred to with feminine pronouns both in court and in UK media coverage, and court documents had charged Graham with raping the women with “her penis.”
During the trial, Graham was called “vulnerable,” and the defending counsel argued that the he was “in no way a predatory male.” Defending him at the High Court in Glasgow, lawyer Edward Targowski was heard comparing Graham to his victims, claiming that all three individuals involved in the case should be considered “vulnerable,” including the rapist.
“If you look at the circumstances, you do not have a predatory male — you have somebody who is vulnerable,” he added.
Targowski also leveraged Graham’s self-declared transgender status in his defense, as reported by The Daily Mail, and told the court: “She is transitioning from male to female gender. If you accept that evidence, that she is transitioning, that she is aiming to continue on that path to becoming female gender, that goes a long way to acquitting her of these charges.”
Giving evidence in his own defense on Monday, Bryson claimed to have known he was a woman from the age of just four years old, and began taking female hormones two years ago when he was 29. He said that at the time of the first sexual assault, he was “struggling” with his sexuality “and having issues emotionally.”
The assaults that Graham has been found guilty of took place in Clydebank in 2016, and in Drumchapel, Glasgow, in 2019. He denied all charges and lodged special defenses claiming the sexual assaults were consensual.
The first assault is said to have happened on September 16, 2016, in Clydebank. Graham reportedly pulled down the woman’s clothing and restrained her, forcibly penetrating her.
According to the woman, Graham told her “not to disclose to anyone” the details of the assault. In an attempt to secure her silence, Graham reportedly went on to threaten the victim’s family.
Three years later, on June 27, 2019, Graham raped a second woman at a Glasgow residence. After having engaged in consensual sexual activity, the victim says, Graham became sexually violent and assaulted her. The court heard that Graham bit the victim, lay on top of her and restrained her, and went on to rape the woman “to her injury.”
In his closing speech to the court on Monday, advocate depute John Keenan asserted that both accounts given by the women were “credible and reliable,” adding that in the 2016 incident, the accused “was too strong and she couldn’t push him off, she said no, loudly, on multiple occasions.”
Keenan continued to say that “she was scared and sick to the stomach about what had gone on” and that “she was worried about her family” on account of the threats Graham had made to her.
Speaking on behalf of the woman involved in the second assault charge, Keenan said: “There is clear evidence from the complainer there was not consent. She told the accused to stop, that she couldn’t breathe, that she didn’t want to. The accused did not stop. That account is corroborated by her distress.”
Graham is the third Scottish transgender rapist to make headlines in the past week.
On January 15, a serial rapist who targeted women in changing rooms and restrooms reportedly had begun identifying as transgender and sought a transfer to a women’s prison. Jonathon Mallon, 40, was sentenced to life in prison in 2014 on a slew of rape charges. He has now begun referring to himself as “Charlene” and has allegedly been “bragging” that he will be in a women’s prison by the spring.
On January 21, it was revealed that an incarcerated sex offender who abducted and raped his care worker had begun claiming to identify as a “woman,” and demanding cosmetics and a transfer to a women’s institution.
In addition to now calling himself “Claire,” Caballero has been demanding red lipstick from the prison.
Cornton Vale, the women’s prison where Graham will be detained, attracted a crowd of protesters in December after Reduxx revealed that a transgender serial child sex offender named Katie Dolatowski had been sent there after violating the conditions of his sex offender registration. Dolatowski, 22, was placed in a women’s institution to serve a 4-month sentence despite his long history of sex attacks against young girls in public facilities.
In 2018, Dolatowski was caught filming a 12-year-old girl in a women’s bathroom at an Asda supermarket in Fife. Dolatowski, who stands nearly 6’5, was spared prison at the time, and, the following month, he targeted another young girl for sexual assault in the restroom of a Morrisons supermarket in Kircaldy, Fife.
Despite his two attacks on children, Dolatowski avoided jail for the incidents, and was instead handed a three-year community order. The following year, he was found to have been housed in a women’s hostel on the basis of his self-declared gender identity, prompting outrage from the women residing there.
UPDATE 1/26/23: The decision to house Graham in a women’s prison ahead of sentencing has been reversed, according to the BBC. Graham was moved to the men’s wing of a male prisonearlier today.

A shocking image from an entertainment spectacle in Argentina has netizens expressing concern after one of the country’s top performers appeared to stick his microphone at or between his thighs for his young son to speak into.
Flavio Mendoza, 48, is a well-regarded dancer and artist in Argentina. He is most well-known for his musical spectacle Stravaganza, a live theatrical performance which involves acrobatics, dance, and other forms of entertainment by dancers wearing lavish costumes.
But on January 23, a concerning snapshot from one of Mendoza’s Stravaganza shows began to circulate on Twitter, prompting massive backlash.
While no details on the image were provided by the original poster, the snap can be traced to Mendoza’s most recent performance in Pinamar, Argentina.
In the shot, Mendoza is seen holding his sequined microphone against his upper thigh to offer to his young son. The boy, who is currently five years old, often accompanies Mendoza to the Stravaganza spectacles where he is frequently seen on stage during or after performances.
Clips uploaded to Mendoza’s Instagram show the scene from a different angle, slightly obscuring the full view of the child singing into the microphone at his father’s hips.
While the microphone is initially held away from Mendoza’s body, he then appears to place it against or between his thighs while the boy sings. As the camera pans around to the front, Mendoza pulls the microphone away, causing the fabric on the groin of his pants to flutter.
Despite the limited details, the photo prompted massive reaction from Twitter users, many of whom expressed disbelief at what they labelled an inappropriate display.
“I’m pretty sure it’s a microphone. Buuuuut…there’s no f*cking way that you hold it in that placement, to a child’s mouth, and don’t think ‘holy f*ck this is terrible positioning and I should probably not do this,'” one user said.
“I don’t think there are any words strong enough to describe the awfulness of this. Anyone who is ok with it or doesn’t want to be labeled ‘intolerant’ or ‘anti-whatever’ should take a deep look into their own soul,” user Roxanne Voorhees wrote in response.
Dionisio has two of his own Instagram accounts, one of which is a private fan page which currently boasts over 50,000 followers, and the other which is public and has over 170,000. Mendoza also features the boy on his own Instagram, and the majority of the most recent photos and videos of the child are of him pictured shirtless at the beach, bathing, or playing at home. Some of the content doesn’t sit well with onlookers.
In one video, uploaded in 2019, Dionisio was seen smacking, squeezing, and biting a woman’s buttocks as she sunbathes on the beach. Mendoza and onlookers encouraged the child’s behavior, prompting widespread criticism from Instagram users.
Some photos of Dionisio shared widely on social media feature the child in Stravaganza costumes of his own, customized to look like his father’s.
Mendoza purchased the child through a surrogacy arrangement in 2018 with his much younger boyfriend, Waldo Gómez. The surrogate was an American woman in Orlando, Florida Mendoza chose through the Open Arms Clinic catalogue.
In an interview conducted last year, Mendoza says the boy had inquired where his mother was, to which he reportedly attempted to tell the child that he did not have a mother. The performer has said he is interested in having more children via surrogacy contract.
