“Pornographic” Gender Book Aimed at Minors Allowed to Continue Sale in Virginia

A lawsuit aimed at stopping the sale of a ‘pornographic’ gender memoir to minors has been dismissed in the state of Virginia, and the decision is sparking controversy across social media.

Initial concerns about Gender Queer, a graphic novel by Maia Kobabe, began circulating after its release last year due to content many called inappropriate for children. The book, which is largely animated includes graphic descriptions of Kobabe’s sexual development and escapades as a young girl. Kobabe is a biological female who identifies as “asexual” and “gender queer,” and uses e/em/eir pronouns.

Among the graphic content includes descriptions of a 12-year-old Kobabe masturbating to the thought of having a penis, and a conversation between her and her sister which results in a minor Kobabe tasting her own vaginal fluid. The book also favorably depicts breast binding — a practice which has been found to pose multiple negative health effects for young women.

The book sparked widespread backlash due to its graphic content, and, as a result, it has been banned in many school districts and libraries across the United States.

In May, Virginia became the latest state to join the fight as Delegate Tim Anderson, on behalf of client Tommy Altman, filed an obscenity lawsuit at a Virginia Beach circuit court. Altman was seeking to have the book removed from schools and libraries in the state, but also sought to prevent major book retailers in Virginia from selling copies to minors. But the lawsuit was dismissed this week after a Judge determined that Virginia law did not allow her the specific authority to determine if the books were obscene for minors.

Judge Pamela S. Baskervill had earlier found probable cause that the book could be considered obscene.

An excerpt from Gender Queer.

As a memoir, Gender Queer tells of Kobabe’s childhood, adolescence, and early adulthood. Kobabe describes how she began to question her identity after reading books that contained “gay sex scenes”. She explains how, at “11 or 12 years old,” she began “fantasizing about having a penis” and would masturbate by “stuffing a sock into the front of my pants and manipulating the bulge” while envisioning gay men having sex.

“Memorably, I got off once while driving just by rubbing the front of my jeans and imagining getting a blowjob,” Kobabe writes.

Several scenes in Gender Queer also positively portray the act of breast binding, and one panel references “Oh Joy, Sex Toy,” a web comic by Erika Moen which depicts graphic illustrations of sex. The site claims to be only for those who are over 18, but is accessible without age verification.

Some of the illustrated pornography on “Oh Joy, Sex Toy” depicts “furrydom,” a euphemism for anthropomorphic animals engaging in sexual activity. It also links to websites that host archives of pornography on the theme of tranvestic fetishism, or male sexual cross-dressing, and BDSM.

Many parents have objected to Gender Queer being available in school libraries. Miranda Stovall, a mother of four, spoke at a meeting with administrators of Kentucky’s Jefferson County Public Schools in July. Stovall had filed a formal dispute requesting the book be removed from four schools in the state.

“I’ve been told this book Gender Queer is necessary for children to see themselves and feel accepted. I believe that all children should be accepted and loved. Accepting and loving children does not mean putting pornography in their hands. [School administrators] all collectively disagreed that graphic pictures… and advertisements for porn sites are obscene materials for children… This book has the potential to lead children as young as 14 years old to actual pornography on the internet,” Stovall said.

In October of 2021, another parent was removed from a school board meeting in Florida by police for reading the book aloud to the audience during the public testimony portion of the meeting.

The Orange County School Board Chair, Teresa Jacobs, directed police officers to remove parent Jacob Engels from the meeting and said “the language he just read is inappropriate for this forum.” Engels had found the graphic novel in the her child’s high school library.

However, despite the criticism from parents and lawmakers, the book still received a number of awards and was one of the 2020 Alex Award Winners for “books written for adults that have special appeal to young adults ages 12 through 18.”

Among those who have championed Gender Queer include trans activist Eli Erlick, who recently came under fire for past sexual assault allegations, as well as offering to supply minors with free cross-sex hormones with no oversight.

In response to news that the obscenity lawsuit against Gender Queer had been dropped, TIME magazine issued a profile on Kobabe. When asked why she had decided to write her memoir, Kobabe told TIME, “I think I was really envisioning people like myself. People who were thinking about gender, who were probably either in their late-teens to mid-20s. Who kind of had the same level of language and media exposure as young people that I did.”

TIME received considerable backlash on social media for the interview with Kobabe. At the time of publication their tweet had received only 800 likes but had wracked up over 8,800 primarily negative replies from those dissatisfied with the glowing profile, which largely glossed over the public’s concerns about the book.

“This ‘asexual’ person is being celebrated by Time for writing to children about masturbation,” popular UK-based information service @ripx4nutmeg wrote.

“My favorite part of the book is when she learns that getting a pretend blow job while wearing a strap-on doesn’t actually feel like anything. A universal lesson kids need to learn, no?” Twitter user Sarah Beth Burwick wrote sarcastically.

In addition to those criticizing the content of the memoir, some in TIME’s replies were expressing amusement with Kobabe’s pronoun choice.

Sall Grover, founder of women’s social media app Giggle, replied to tweet calling it “The stupidest sentence I have ever read,” while conservative commentator Matt Walsh gained over 19,000 likes for his mocking keyboard-smash.

Many of the replies also expressed concern that the book would confuse young teenagers about their gender.

A new report published by the Bedbible Research Center found that the number of young people who identify as transgender has nearly doubled in recent years. Approximately 1.6 million youth over the age of 13 are self-reporting to have a gender identity different from their sex.

Illustrated pornography depicting homosexual male relationships has been cited as a source of gender identity confusion by an outspoken detransitioner. In February, Helena Kerschner published an article to her Substack detailing her dive “deeper and deeper down the trans identity rabbit hole,” which she first became exposed to through Tumblr at the age of thirteen.

Discussing the type of content that was shared online among teen girls who were identifying as transgender, Kerschner writes, “Pure erotica was popular too (often carrying heavy kinky themes). I began to identify with these representations of boys written by other young females, and the themes within male/male fanfiction were so much more titillating than anything in mainstream, professionally produced media.”

In June, a mother of a detransitioned daughter spoke with Reduxx to warn of the influence of pornography on girls’ decision to declare a transgender identity. It was after her daughter was exposed to Japanese anime pornography in the yaoi genre, which often features feminine men in sexual relationships, that she began to insist she was a boy.

“Girls in anime are highly sexualized, and no girl wants to be that. They want to be the guy. My daughter thought she was a gay boy because she likes boys but she didn’t want to be a girl,” the anonymous mother warned.

UK: Repeat Child Sex Offender Now Living Under New Feminine Identity in Dundee

A predator with a lengthy history of sexual violence directed towards young boys has been released into the community and is apparently living under a new feminine identity in Dundee, Scotland.

The UK Database reported today that serial sexual predator Connor Tait has been released from prison and is now living in Dundee under a new name. The Database is a civilian-run child safeguarding project which provides updates on sex offender convictions, and alerts the public on the releases of those who may be living in unsuspecting communities.

Connor Tait in a recent Facebook photo, under the name “Connie Duncan.” Source: UK Database/FACEBOOK

Tait was most recently convicted in 2013 after sexually assaulting a young boy as he walked home from football practice. Tait had reportedly picked his victim “completely at random,” hiding in a bush close to where the boy was playing with a friend before jumping out, grabbing the child, and sexually abusing him. The boy’s friend witnessed part of the assault prior to fleeing for help, and would later provide his testimony to police.

According to a 2015 court document, after making his presence known, Tait grabbed the 11-year-old victim from behind, put his hands in the victim’s tracksuit bottoms, and inserted two fingers into the child’s anus. The victim managed to break free after hitting Tait in the face.

In reporting the attack, both of the boys described Tait as donning a fake tan, eye liner, earrings, and brightly dyed hair. Authorities were able to immediately locate Tait following their report, and arrested him just hours after the attack.

During his trial, the presiding Judge called Tait “disturbed” and stated his crime had been “one of the most horrible I have had to deal with in the course of almost 20 years of sitting here.”

Tait had two previous convictions for sexual offenses on young boys prior to the 2013 assault, but details on the crimes, as well as whether he had been handed any prison time for them, are sparse. While Tait was a registered sex offender, he had apparently been poorly monitored by authorities at the time of the most recent attack, with the court admitting the lack of care had been “concerning.”

In 2014, Tait was handed an 8-year extended sentence, but was sent to a psychiatric hospital shortly after his conviction. Tait had been “straightforward” to an attending psychologist about his sexual interest in young boys, and the court warned that Tait was at “extremely high risk” of reoffending if he were allowed to re-enter the community at liberty.

But in 2015, Tait’s custodial term was slashed to 3 and-a-half years in 2015 after part of his sexual assault conviction was overturned on appeal.

In an announcement published on Facebook today, UK Database informed its readership that Tait was now free from prison and has assumed the name “Connie Duncan.” Tait has established a Facebook page under that identity where he advertises house cleaning and dog walking services in Dundee.

“A sex predator with a sexual preference of boys aged under 13 has been RELEASED back to Dundee and is now masquerading as someone called Connie Duncan,” UK Database wrote in their post, noting that Tait had been convicted of multiple attacks against young boys.

The Database provided readers a link to Tait’s new Facebook page, but since the announcement, Tait has locked down the profile, which showed him donning a decidedly more feminine appearance, including long hair and makeup.

It is unclear when Tait was released, but his previous conviction had included the condition of 4 years of in-community monitoring after his release. It is unknown if the conditions are still in place, and, if so, how they differ from those that Tait had already been under when he committed the 2013 attack.

Dozens of outraged users have responded to UK Database’s Facebook post exposing Tait, expressing disbelief that an offender classified as “high risk” could be allowed to take jobs working in people’s homes.

“Makes you laugh, doesn’t it? High risk predators but yet they’re still able to roam the streets where innocent children are and possibly victims? Absolute joke, this justice system,” Amy Marsh wrote. Her comment was echoed by others, with Beverley Hoggarth sarcastically writing: “They know he’s high risk but put him back out on the streets… now that makes perfect sense doesn’t it?”

In recent months, there have been multiple instances of trans-identified male pedophiles being turned out into the community in the United Kingdom.

In April, a 60-year-old pedophile in Chatham who claimed to identify as a 5-year-old girl avoided jail despite having breached a long-standing sexual harm prevention order by approaching and kissing two children.

Weeks prior to that, another trans-identified male was spared jail on a suspended sentence after being caught with over 250 pieces of child sexual abuse media, some of which included toddlers being sexually tortured.

Most recently, a trans-identified male from South Sheilds caught with over 125,000 pieces of child abuse materials was spared jail after a Judge determined the “impact of custody” would be too “significant” for him to cope with.

Klaus T. at an April hearing in Moabit.

Trans Pedophile Convicted “As a Woman” in Germany After Abusing 2 Children

Klaus T. at an April hearing in Moabit.

A man in Germany who abused two young children, including his own granddaughter, was quietly convicted “as a woman” during his trial this year and has likely been sent to a women’s prison, according to German women’s rights advocates.

Known only by his first name and last initial due to strict privacy laws, Klaus T., 63, appeared in court for the first time in April on charges of sexually abusing two girls — aged 9 and 10. The 9-year-old was his own granddaughter, while the latter was a child who lived in his apartment complex.

The abuse first came to light after the 9-year-old confided in her mother, Klaus T.’s daughter, about having been molested by the man during an overnight visit which took place in December 2021. The girl told her mother that “grandpa went to bed with me” and explained that it had “hurt.” The child also told her mother that before the visit ended, Klaus T. had told her to keep what had happened a secret.

“If you say something, I’ll go to prison,” Klaus T. is reported as having said.

Following the girl’s admission, her mother went to police and filed a criminal complaint.

Law enforcement officials conducted a search of Klaus T.’s Berlin apartment shortly after, and found numerous pieces of child sexual abuse material during their investigation. Some were of his 9-year-old granddaughter, but others were of a 10-year-old child later identified as a girl who lived in the same apartment building.

The 10-year-old’s parents had been friends of Klaus T.’s, and had often trusted him with supervising the girl after school as he was considered a trusted adult in the building. Intimate recordings of the girl had been taken around November of 2021.

German media reported that Klaus T. had been “living as a woman” for years prior to abusing his granddaughter, but that the girl still knew him as “grandpa.”

He had also never changed the name or gender on his identification documents, but the court still referred to him by his preferred name of “Klaudia” and used feminine pronouns for him. During the trial, it became known that Klaus T. also frequented pornography cinemas.

Klaus T. was sentenced to 5 years in prison in May, and, according to German media outlet BZ, he was “convicted as a woman.”

Speaking to Reduxx, Roxie Roots says Klaus T. “definitely” went to a women’s prison based on his self-identification alone due to recent regional reforms in Berlin. Roots, a survivor of the sex trade, has become a vocal women’s rights advocate in Germany, with a particular focus on laws that impact women’s safety.

Roots explained that in September of 2021, Berlin’s House of Representatives announced major reforms targeted at regional prisons, including that males who identified as female could be placed in women’s prisons even if they had not changed their legal gender or name, such as in the case of Klaus T.

“[The Berlin Government] claimed it would be case-by-case, but if they addressed him as a woman in court, he would be ending up in a women’s prison.” Roots says.

“Like in so other countries, many women in prison in Germany are there for [non-violent crimes]. They will also have a background of sexual violence, which is why I think it is devastating to place men in women’s prisons.”

Roots says that German media has been burying stories where the criminal was identified as transgender, or releasing select details so as not to provide any clarity on the suspect’s actual sex.

“In every country it’s the same — no coverage, or vague local news stories that are ignored by [larger] outlets. [German women] have to really scan the internet to find them. And the way they’re worded now, they don’t clearly tell readers that it’s a man.”

In May, a trans-identified male was arrested after brutally murdering a female patient while housed in the women’s ward of a psychiatric facility in Haar, Germany. But in initial media reports of the horrific crime, the man was referred to either as a “woman,” or neutrally as a “patient.” It wasn’t until Stephan Beer, head of the homicide division for the police force, described the suspect as “male in terms of sex, [and] female in [gender] appearance” that the suspect’s transgender identity became known.

“As much as [the media] is trying to hide the truth from us, this isn’t the first case we’ve seen, and it won’t be the last,” Roots says, adding that women are having to independently record these cases to circulate facts on them in an absence of official data.

German lawmakers are currently considering a proposed self-identification policy which would allow anyone aged 14 years old and older to change their legal sex by filling out a simple form, and allow individuals to make changes to their documents once per year.

The Self-Determination Act also states a fine can be issued if a person’s gender or name change is disclosed without their permission.

A recent survey of German citizens conducted by YouGov for the Welt am Sonntag newspaper showed that 46% of respondents were in favor of the proposed legislation, and 41% opposed it.

Pedophile Publishes Article About Sexual Attraction to Young Boys in Academic Journal

A scholarly journal edited by prominent academics published an entry from a self-admitted pedophile in their latest edition in what is now the second case of a pedophilic auto-ethnography finding its way into an academic publication this year.

Titled “The Pedophile as a Human Being: An Autoethnography for the Recognition of a Marginalized Sexual Orientation,” the article was published earlier this year in Controversial Ideas, an independent journal edited by three University-affiliated scholars, including Dr. Peter Singer, a Professor of BioEthics at Princeton. The editorial board is comprised of over three dozen academics, primarily Professors, at various prestigious Universities around the world.

The article was written by Brecht Vaerwaeter, an author who admits to publishing under a pseudonym for his protection. Vaerwaeter attempts to argue that pedophilia is a “marginalized sexual orientation” which required recognition, and that pedophiles must be turned into “human beings again” in the public perception.

Vaerwaeter begins by arguing that “many men, as well as some women, are attracted almost exclusively to minors” and that these desires result in feelings of isolation or abandonment. He goes on to denounce the lack of organizations that exist to support the rights of pedophiles, referring to political pro-pedophile organizations that existed in the 1970s, 80s, and 90s as examples of  groups “which often acted as part of the gay movement to promote the emancipation of pedophiles.” He later names examples in the North American Man-Boy Love Association, Vereniging Martijn, and Project Truth, all of which had member status in the International Gay and Lesbian Association (ILGA) until 1994.

After four sections asserting that pedophilia rights movements have a historical premise in the LGBT community, and lionizing champions of pedophile rights including Dutch politician Edward Brongersma, Vaerwaeter states he is going to offer his own auto-ethnographic accounts of being sexually attracted to children.

“The contribution to knowledge of this section is in providing primary evidence for the argument that being emotionally and sexually attracted to children or young teenagers is not fundamentally different from being attracted to adults of the opposite or same gender, and more specifically, that falling in love with a child or young teenager is not fundamentally different from falling in love with an adult,” he writes.

The article then shifts into the author recalling his sexual attraction to several young children throughout his life, describing his sexual fantasies about them, and sometimes describing the genitalia of the minors in graphic detail.

Vaerwaeter states he realized he had a sexual attraction to young boys at the age of 17.

“In the queue for the school canteen, my eyes drifted to the young kids who gathered in groups. During gym classes I enjoyed the smooth calves of the second-year boys.” Vaerwaeter says he specifically volunteered to supervise the young boys during a school retreat in order to have more interaction with them. He then describes becoming sexually infatuated with two boys who would have been 12-14 years of age, and fantasizing about boys of that age.

“I imagined that we were enjoying each other’s bodies, and in my fantasy for the boy it was a novel sensation over and over again, for which he then would be very grateful to me afterwards … it was clear that manually initiating a young, hormone-overflowing pubescent boy into the world of orgasm would certainly give me much greater satisfaction.”

Vaerwaeter recounts several more memories of meeting and engaging with young boys as he continued to get older, with multiple 12-14 year olds mentioned.

While recalling a young boy he supervised at camp named Cedric, Vaerwaeter writes: “Every night when I wanted to fall asleep, I would roll over on my left side, just as I had at that night at summer camp, and I would curl half around the imaginary sleeping figure of a warm, sweet, blond thirteen-year-old boy, put my arms around him, sniff his fresh scent and listen to his regular breathing until I would land in sweet dreams.”

On another boy, aged 14, Vaerwaeter says: “There was tension in the air from day one. When we went for a swim, Jeroen asked me if I wanted to rub his back with sun cream, after which he lay half naked against me. Someone took an unsolicited picture of us, we almost looked like a couple in love.”

Vaerwaeter eventually describes coming across boylover communities and reading about having a “light bulb moment” after reading in a boylover oriented magazine how “boylovers do not see themselves as child molesters, but as people who are attracted to young boys.”

After finishing his auto-ethnographic section, Vaerwaeter concludes the article by arguing that “pedophilia should explicitly be recognized as a sexual orientation” and that “rejecting pedophilia as a sexual orientation is unethical and intellectually unfair.”

He also states that “society should be more tolerant of those who suffer from pedophilic feelings,” asserting that such tolerance could prevent child sexual abuse.

Vaerwaeter’s article was initially published on April 29, which was just three days after now-disgraced Manchester PhD student Karl Andersson published his now-retracted auto-ethnography in the Journal of Qualitative Research.

The paper, titled “I am not alone — we are all alone: Using masturbation as an ethnographic method in research on shota subculture in Japan,” detailed Andersson using masturbation while reading animated child sexual abuse fantasies as a form of “research.” The paper received widespread backlash after it began to circulate amongst child safeguarding communities on social media, and was ultimately retracted entirely by the Journal of Qualitative Research after an investigation into both ethical and criminal considerations began.

The investigations were launched by both Manchester Police and the University of Manchester following a Reduxx investigation detailing disturbing facets of Andersson’s history, which included having published graphic magazines sexually objectifying real teen boys.

Like Vaerwaeter, Andersson treated pedophilia as a type of sexual orientation, specifically arguing that it was an “expression of homosexuality” during an interview with Out Magazine. Similarly, he also deferred to past acceptance of pedophile rights organizations within the early LGBT movement.

“The most controversial expression of homosexuality is when a man is attracted to an adolescent boy,” Andersson is quoted as saying, continuing: “the gay movement has lost touch with its past … It was founded to a large extent by men who were attracted to adolescent boys in Germany in the beginning of the 20th century. That should be acknowledged and it isn’t. We should honor them because we owe them our freedoms — instead, we despise them.”

As referenced by Vaerwaeter in his journal entry, in 1994, the International Lesbian and Gay Alliance was expelled from its consultative status with a United Nations body for having ties to multiple pro-pedophilia rights organizations including Vereniging Martijn and the North American Man-Boy Love Association (NAMBLA).

Two prominent members of Vereniging Martijn were recently arrested, one in Mexico and the other in Ecuador. One is alleged to have sexually abused “dozens” of vulnerable children, while the other had attempted to purchase a child and was found in possession of 4 terabytes (4000 GB) of child sexual abuse material at the time of his arrest. Both had advocated for tolerance towards pedophiles.

RAYMOND: Transgenderism and its Doublethink

No one—women, men, children, or trans-identified persons—should be subjected to any form of exploitation or targeted for discrimination.

Trans-identified persons are entitled to the same human and civil rights as others. Recognizing these rights, however, does not mean that we must accept that hormones and surgery transform men into women and women into men; or that persons who self-declare as members of the opposite sex are what they subjectively claim to be; or that hormones and surgery are “life-saving and necessary treatments” for those seeking transition.

Transgender activists champion the “right” to hormones and surgery for every child who presents as “dysphoric,” treatments they define as “emergency medical care.” This rhetoric of dysphoria allows accusers to assert that opponents are depriving children of necessary health care, as if hormones are an issue of life and death comparable to insulin needed by diabetics.

By defining these treatments as a right, trans activists can brand both opponents of affirmation treatment and questioning parents as biased, allegedly depriving children of their civil liberties. Instead of supporting a child’s right to protection from the health risks of such procedures, trans activists claim that robbing children of quick affirmation of treatment is life-threatening and may cause suicide.

The suicide alarm is used as a cudgel to hammer trans tenets into truths. Suicide numbers are blown out of proportion and invoked widely within trans circles, especially to defend certain medical procedures for young people.

Keira Bell, the brave young woman who brought a legal case against the UK Tavistock Clinic, has written:

I was adamant that I needed to transition. It was the kind of brash assertion that’s typical of teenagers. What was really going on was that I was a girl insecure in my body who had experienced parental abandonment, felt alienated from my peers, suffered from anxiety and depression, and struggled with my sexual orientation.

As she grew older, Bell understood, “I recognized that gender dysphoria was a symptom of my overall misery, not its cause.”

After a round of “superficial conversations” with social workers, Bell was given puberty blockers at age 16, testosterone shots at 17, and at 20, she had a double mastectomy. Five years later, she detransitioned. The health consequences, however, were not superficial: infertility, loss of breasts with inability to breastfeed, atrophied genitals, and a permanently changed voice.

Writer Max Robinson quotes a friend who argues that[:]

… if the top priority of all providers of transgender health-care services was really to help people feel their best, they’d be banging on the doors of the many women talking about alternative strategies for coping with feelings currently or formerly diagnosable as gender dysphoria.

Quick gender affirmation treatment for children reverses the Hippocratic medical principle to “do no harm” when clinicians subject young patients to iatrogenic or doctor-induced risks that include infertility or chemical sterilization, vaginal atrophy in girls, and heart problems. Even the notion of harm is inverted when trans activists and clinicians claim the actual damage done to young patients is due to parents and others who reject quick affirmation treatment, a rejection they label as child abuse.

Transgenderism has even taken root in US medical schools. Professors, besieged by woke medical students, are apologizing, for example, for using the term “pregnant woman” instead of “pregnant person.” Some schools are conceding that “the notion of sex … is just a man-made creation,” an admission that can have disastrous effects if doctors and patients ignore the material reality of sex and its consequences for diagnosis and treatment.

Transgenderism is undermining medical training. One student, Lauren, gives an example: “Take abdominal aortic aneurysms … These are four times as likely to occur in males than females.” But when discussed, this sex difference wasn’t emphasized. Other sex differences such as heart attack symptoms manifest differently in males and females. But sex differences that impact treatment are not part of the curriculum. Lauren continues, “I’m not even sure what I’m being taught, and unless my classmates are as skeptical as I am, they probably aren’t aware either.”

In spite of what Lauren sees happening in medical schools, she is “both hopeful for the future and not.” She observes that the transgender movement “is portrayed as a civil rights movement … it seems virtuous … So how can you fight against something that’s being marketed as a fight for human rights?”

How is it that critics of the transgender system have been demonized, threatened, and attacked for calling out the lies and stating the truth? For one thing, self-declared women, as the men that they are, are not listening to detransitioning women. Instead trans activists seek to downplay the numbers of detransitioners and brand them as traitors. Men who identify as women and their allies have seized the public stage and set in motion the trans policing of those with whom they disagree, harassing and attacking both detransitioners and natal women.

Young women who identified formerly as “trans men” and are now detransitioning are asking perceptive questions that challenge trans dogma. Men who self-identify as women could take a page from their female counterparts and begin this kind of personal and political reflection.

Transsexualism and its more recent incarnation transgenderism raise half-truths that highlight the situation of those individuals in society who feel uniquely body-bound by gender constrictions—but individual distress is not the whole truth. Although transgenderism poses the question of gender dissatisfaction, it fails to give a social and political answer. Instead it reinforces the society and social norms that produced transgender to begin with. And too often, it offers no solution to the individual’s gender dissatisfaction.

As I have written elsewhere, many people, especially feminists, have faced dissatisfaction with their bodies. However, feminists have raised questions and given answers to gender dissatisfaction that go far beyond the transsexual and transgender context—questions about body mutilation and integrity, medical research priorities, definitions of maleness and femaleness, and the expansion of the industrialization of gender. Any woman who has experienced the agony of not fitting into a society where “gender hurts” is hardly insensitive to the plight of trans-identified persons.

Many trans-identified persons speak compellingly about their own experience. Many experience acute body dissatisfaction. Having experienced dissatisfaction with one’s body, however, does not make anyone an authority on the larger social, political, and medical contexts that generate trans identification. This kind of reflection requires looking beyond the individual self at the ways in which social and political structures influence identity.

Given the damage that transgenderism is doing to children who are being processed through gender identity clinics, seeking to change their bodies through hormones and surgery, the most honest, informed, and sensitive position one can take is to be openly gender-critical. Otherwise, we engage in a passive tolerance, a laissez-faire attitude that reinforces a gender-defined society and a gender industry that prolongs the harm.

Misplaced sympathy will only strengthen a society in which new sex roles are the norm, where gender crises become subject to medicalization, and where self-declaration of sex is epidemic. Such a tolerance encourages children and adults to alter their bodies or their appearance rather than to join together in altering societal standards. In the long run, this kind of tolerance, sensitivity, or sympathy does not aid those who suffer but rather creates more victims.

What is at stake in the transgender conflict is not just an individual person’s “feeling.” Rather, this anti-woman and anti-feminist ideology is having a far-reaching impact on legislation normalizing that men can be women, often with no input from women who would be harmed by the legislation. Unfortunately, where transgender legislation is placed on the docket, public opinion lags behind public policy.

Trans activists have taken their ideology and practice to absurd lengths, and people have played along with it giving anything that passes for trans their support. We are in the grip of a repudiation of reality that is responsible for much harm, especially to children. Every day, there are new revelations about transgender intrusions into the educational system and women’s sports, the proliferation of gender identity clinics, and legislation that is pending or has passed that institutionalizes transgenderism. Principled people must be willing to speak out and say “enough.”

I hope that more people will come to see gender dissatisfaction not as a disorder requiring medical treatment, or as a matter of self-identification, but as an issue that will not be resolved until we challenge both the traditional and “progressive” gender-defined culture and the denialism that perpetuates it. I hope that the trans survivor movement will become a strong political movement that will contribute to changing what is now a men’s rights movement to a gender-abolitionist movement that honors women and women’s rights.

UK: Lesbians Removed from Pride Event for Criticizing Gender Ideology

A group of lesbian women were removed by law enforcement during a Pride march in Cardiff, Wales for “causing confrontation” after they were verbally attacked by trans activists. The organization, Get the L Out UK, opposes the addition of transgenderism to the LGB category, and carried banners which read “lesbians don’t like penises,” and “trans activism erases lesbians.”

Videos uploaded to Get the L Out’s Twitter account depict an exchange between Get the L Out organizer Angela Wild and a police officer.

“I want to make sure I understand. You are removing lesbians from an LGBT march. Is that what you’re doing?” Wild asked the officer.

“Yes, that is what’s happening. For your safety, and for other people’s safety,” he replied. “At the moment, your march is causing confrontation between different groups of people.”

In the background, a man wearing a dress can be seen rushing towards Liane Timmermann, activist and lead campaigner with the organization, while shouting insults.

Speaking to Reduxx on what happened, Get the L Out demonstrator Angela Wild says police formed a line between them and the other Pride marchers immediately.

“We were initially told by the police that we had to move, but we told them we had the right to march where we were. They then told us they could escort us, but only if we marched at the back. We said ‘no, we’re at the front, and we intend to march where we are.'”

Wild says that while the police initially told them they were allowed to march at the front, the decision was quickly rescinded, and the lesbian demonstrators were once again told they either needed to shift to the back of the march, or they would be removed entirely.

“They told us we were going to be removed for our own safety, to which we asked why they wouldn’t do anything about the trans activists who were harassing us. They didn’t respond. We were then threatened with being physically removed from the march.”

Wild noted that verbal abuse was being hurled at them, with one particularly hostile trans activist telling them that “lesbians can fuck off,” but police did nothing to stop the hostility that was aimed at Wild and her group.

“We did this action to highlight the way lesbians are treated within the LGBT community, and in Pride marches as well, where we cannot state that we do not like to have sexual relationships with men, even if the men identify as or call themselves lesbians,” Wild told Reduxx.

“It’s an issue that no one seems to want to talk about. One of our banners said ‘cotton ceiling is rape’ and another banner that said ‘lesbians don’t like penises.’ They don’t seem like controversial statements but that’s what got us all the harassment,” she added.

The ‘cotton ceiling’ refers to a term coined by porn star and trans activist Drew DeVeaux in 2015. It is inspired by the concept of the “glass ceiling,” which is used to describe discrimination women face in the workplace that prevents them for reaching upper management levels. The “cotton” refers to the material of a women’s underwear, and frames a lesbian’s refusal to have sexual relations with males as a form of discrimination.

Wild also says their participation in the Pride march was intended to provide opposition to plans the Welsh government has to introduce LGBT-oriented policy in an effort to become the most “LGBT friendly state in the world.” Wild stated she had concerns the policies were going to disproportionately impact women and lesbians as similar policies have in other parts of the world.

In a past interview with Women’s Declaration International, Timmermann explained that Get the L Out focuses on direct actions and research, and that the group was formed “because we realized that transgenderism is a threat to women, but more specifically to lesbians.”

“We see transgenderism as posting two main dangers for lesbians: the cotton ceiling and the trans’ing of young non-conforming girls and women, most of whom are lesbians,” Timmermann explained.

On Twitter, feminists and lesbian allies expressed outrage at the footage uploaded by Get the L Out UK, with many pointing out the irony in removing lesbians from a pride parade for not wanting to engage in heterosexual relations.

“Pride was set up to protest against the homophobia directed at people because of their sexual orientation not for heterosexuals. Yet there we have it – same sex attracted women being harassed by heterosexuals,” Twitter user Davina Day wrote.

Many also took issue with the police claiming the lesbians’ removal was for “their safety,” when the threat itself was not being addressed.

“And ‘for your own protection.’ How about removing the men who were threatening them? Or maybe the law doesn’t apply when you identity as trans?” User Jonathan Hartley asked.

Pride Cymru released a statement following footage of the lesbians’ removal going viral on social media. In the short post, they suggested Get the L Out had “interrupted the march” and proclaimed “trans rights are human rights.”

This isn’t the first instance of hostility being directed at lesbians attempting to march at gay pride events in recent months.

In July and August, lesbian activists in Germany were physically assaulted by trans activists for holding signs similar to those Get the L Out had in Cardiff.

On July 2, a group of women gathered outside of Museum Ludwig and unfurled banners which defined lesbians as “female homosexual persons” and declared opposition to the ‘queer’ trend. In response, trans activists heckled and harassed the women, and at one point a masked man rushed a young woman who had been holding a lesbian pride flag and put her in a headlock, wrapping his arms tightly around her neck and strangling her.

No respondieron.
