Pride Amsterdam Ad Featuring Trans Model With Self-Harm Scars Sparks Outrage

A digital poster created by Pride Amsterdam is sparking backlash for featuring a trans-identified female model with a significant amount of of self-mutilation scars on her arms.

Photos of the advertisement began circulating on social media last week, showing a digital information stand in the iconic libertine city displaying the poster, which was part of the “My Gender, My Pride” campaign.

The campaign was launched as part of the wider Pride parade celebrations held annually from July 30 to August 7, which often take on a different theme every year.

Jason Bhugwandass, the subject of the digital poster, is one of 10 Ambassadors selected by Pride Amsterdam to represent the theme of the campaign. In the photo, Bhugwandass appears topless, displaying ‘gender affirming’ mastectomy scars and a stuffed dog perched on her shoulder.

But it was the trail of jagged self-harm marks from wrist-to-shoulder that sparked the most concern.

The digital poster invites passersby to scan a QR code and watch a video created by Pride Amsterdam featuring an interview with Bhugwandass. In the video, Bhugwandass explains she takes a stuffed dog with her everywhere she goes in order to self-soothe.

Bhugwandass, 23, had been featured in a documentary released at the Netherlands International Documentary Film Festival in 2021. The hour-long film, titled ‘Jason,’ revealed Bhugwandass had been the victim of extreme domestic violence as a child. A profile on Bhugwandass published in RTL Niews in January adds that Bhugwandass was also abused by “multiple neighbors” throughout her youth.

At age 16, Bhugwandass was diagnosed with PTSD and housed in five locked youth treatment facilities over the course of one year due to repeated suicide attempts and depression. While in the facilities, Bhugwandass was often placed in solitary confinement, and experienced additional emotional trauma.

While the image of the billboard was circulated by many accounts, it wracked up mass attention after popular British feminist influencer Aja posted it to her Twitter on July 28.

“A woman who clearly spent years engaging in self-harm on her arms is now being celebrated because she has moved her self harming on to her chest,” Aja wrote, “This [message] is extremely dangerous.. its Pro-Ana the 2022 version.”

Pro-Ana, a shortened version of “pro-anorexia,” is a reference to an online subculture popularized by Tumblr which glorified eating disorders and self-harm. The subculture gained notoriety in the mid-2000s, where young girls flocked to post and circulate “thinspiration” on their blogs in an attempt to encourage each other to take on fad-diets and shed as much weight as possible.

Aja’s tweet wracked up almost 5,000 ‘likes’ as of this article’s writing, and over 450 primarily furious replies to the post were logged from feminists and those who have survived self-harm.

“I honestly cannot believe this exists,” user @stemfemm wrote in response to Aja, “The self-inflicted scars and the top surgery scars are one in the same. Self hatred and self loathing, now used to market trendy plastic surgeries to help you run further from yourself.”

This is not the firm time a trans-identified female has been used to advertise the benefits of ‘gender affirming’ surgeries while also appearing to have engaged in significant amount of self-harm prior to the procedure.

In December of 2021, an image from infamous gender surgeon Dr. Sidhbh Gallagher began to circulate on social media, showing an image of one of her clients she had posted to Facebook.

The female who had been given a double-mastectomy was similarly sporting a disturbing number of self-harm scars on her stomach and arms.

The outrage regarding the Pride Amsterdam billboard came just one day after England’s National Health Service announced that the country’s only pediatric gender identity clinic would be closing its doors. The news followed a damning investigation into the Tavistock’s Gender Identity Development Service (GIDS) that was released in March of this year.

The review was the result of multiple whistleblowers coming forward with concerns about the clinic and its minor patients. Some said they felt Tavistock was engaging in gay conversion therapy for pursuing heavy-handed gender-based solutions, as well as often ignoring co-morbidities in young patients — such as autism or mental health concerns.

Of note, the review’s interim report pointed to a 2011 study which found that up to 10% of young people being referred for gender identity services in the Netherlands were on the autism spectrum.

Trans Serial Killer Who Targeted Women Was Granted Entry to Women’s Shelter, Used Photos of Victim on Facebook

UPDATE 8/2/22: A previous version of this article included the now-outdated claim that Marcelin was located in the men’s section of Rikers Island. This article has been edited to reflect that Marcelin is currently housed in the female section of Rikers, as per the New York City Department of Corrections.

A transgender serial killer with prior convictions for the murders of two women was granted access to a homeless shelter for women, where he reportedly was interacting with his third victim.

Harvey Marcelin, 84, who identifies as a transgender lesbian and uses the name Marceline Harvey, was arrested on March 4 for the murder of Susan Leyden, 68. Leyden, a former jewelry designer from New Jersey, was a resident of the Sage Center at Stonewall House, an LGBTQ residence in Brooklyn that also houses homeless seniors.

Leyden’s headless torso was found by a passerby in a shopping cart blocks away from Marcelin’s apartment on March 3, prompting police to question Marcelin on the gruesome discovery. Marcelin was well-known to police as a murderer, having been convicted in the brutal deaths of two other women on two separate occasions. In 1963, Marcelin had been convicted of murdering his ex-girlfriend. In 1986, just two years after being paroled, he stabbed a woman to death. Marcelin was paroled again in 2019.

Marcelin was arrested after witnesses reported seeing him leaving his apartment with Leyden’s floral shopping bag and CCTV footage was reviewed confirming Leyden had entered, but never left, Marcelin’s apartment building.

A search warrant executed at Marcelin’s apartment turned up Leyden’s decapitated head.

“My office charged Harvey Marcelin with allegedly concealing the severed head of a woman in [his] home and discarding the victim’s torso in a bag on the street,” Kings County District Attorney Eric Gonzalez said in a press conference held on March 14. “Today, the grand jury indicted Harvey Marcelin for murder, and my office is committed to vigorously seeking justice. The facts of this horrific case are gruesome and unsettling and my heart is with the victim’s family and friends.”

During the same press conference, the NYPD provided updates on the gruesome crime in which they released surveillance footage from a retail store featuring Marcelin. In it, Marcelin is seen utilizing a motorized wheelchair with what appears to be a severed human leg on the seat, visible when Marcelin stands from the chair to look at products.

On March 30, Marcelin pleaded not guilty to charges of first- and second-degree murder, tampering with physical evidence, and concealment of a human corpse in the killing of Leyden.

While it is unclear when Marcelin and Leyden first met, one of his many Facebook profiles reveals a communication with the victim dated 2019, just after he was released from the upstate Cayuga Correctional facility on the provision of lifetime parole.

A screen capture of one of Marcelin’s Facebook accounts, using photos of Susan Leyden as his own.

It was at this time that both Marcelin and Leyden were seeking housing. Leyden, who was reportedly struggling with declining mental health and drug addiction, eventually secured an apartment within the Sage Center at Stonewall House.

Marcelin used Leyden’s own photo as his own profile image on more than one Facebook account and had repeatedly posted her picture to his Facebook pages. In October 2021, just months before Leyden was murdered, Marcelin responded to her with the comment, “Love personified.”

Yet a few comments made from Leyden’s Facebook account suggest that the feeling was far from mutual.

In November 2020, Marcelin uploaded a photo of a young blond woman as his main profile photo, the identity of whom is unknown. Beneath the photo, Leyden commented: “That is not a picture of Marceline Harvey… [he] is nice but crazy… Marcaline [sic] is a freak.”

Anne Brennan, a nurse who oversees the intake of residents, told The New York Times that she had objected to Harvey being allowed entry to the women’s section of the shelter where Leyden resided — particularly in light of his long record of violence against women — yet her concerns were ignored by her supervisors.

“Apparently his feelings and identity were far more important than all the other women that were terrified of him,” Brennan said.

However, Julia Savel, a spokeswoman for the city’s Department of Social Services, told media that policies permitted Harvey’s presence.

“Our policy — in accordance with the law — is to place individuals in shelters based on their reported gender identity,” she said. “Being homeless or transgender does not make you inherently violent and are not connected to the crime that was committed.”

Marcelin told media in April that he met Leyden in Tompkins Square Park in the East Village and that she was among his “coven” of women. She was one of three women who occasionally visited Marcelin’s East New York apartment.

According to James Essig, NYPD Chief of Detectives, Leyden was seen entering Marcelin’s apartment on the morning of February 27 with a shopping cart. Marcelin was seen at a local hardware store on March 1 with “another unknown female”, where they purchased a power saw, trash bags, and cleaning solutions.

Marcelin is currently detained in the Rose M. Singer section of Riker’s Island, which is the only female facility on Rikers Island. In an interview with The New York Post conducted in April, he stated that he first dressed up as a woman for Halloween when he was about 13 or 14 years old.

“It felt so good,” Marcelin said, who added that he did not claim a female identity until he met a transgender inmate at the Auburn state prison in 1993 who encouraged him to start taking Premarin, a form of estrogen that was developed for post-menopausal women.

On July 30, the New York Times released a lengthy sympathetic profile on Marcelin and his crimes, utilizing “she/her” pronouns throughout. The article insisted “transgender people are far more likely to become victims of violence, not perpetrators,” and appeared to attribute Marcelin’s history of violence against women as part of his gender identity conflict.

Marcelin has a long history of mental illness and committing sex-based violence. He was first accused of attempted rape when he was just 14 years-old; the allegation was made by a girl aged 8.

A 1963 psychiatric examination conducted by three doctors at Bellevue Psychiatric Hospital concluded Marcelin had “schizoid personality with sociopathic features” but was not deemed criminally insane nor psychotic. A hospital record from 1962 suggested he may have had “delusional grandiosity,” “suggestions of chronic schizophrenia” and “paranoid reaction personality.”

Prior to Leyden’s grisly homicide, Marcelin had been incarcerated for more than five decades on two separate murder convictions for the brutal homicides of women – the first in 1963, and the second in 1985.

A jury found Marcelin guilty of murder in 1963 for fatally shooting his girlfriend Jacqueline Bonds inside a Manhattan apartment. At the time, Marcelin was also facing an attempted rape charge involving another woman, and Bonds had been scheduled to appear before a grand jury considering the case.

In April, Marcelin stated that he had killed Bonds out of jealousy. “She was very popular,” he said. “And I had images of her just being nice to somebody else. Yeah, sexually, you know. She was beautiful. I didn’t want anyone else to have her.”

He was found guilty of first-degree murder and received a sentence of 20 years to life, and was released in May 1984.

On the morning of October 30, 1985, Marcelin was seen pushing a shopping cart that contained a garbage bag. Witness Robert Romano told law enforcement, “The bag ripped on the first step and blood came out.” A second witness spoke of discovering the bag later and discovered a pair of women’s legs inside, bound with rope.

The victim was identified as Anna Laura Serrera Miranda, 29, in police records. Miranda had a string of prostitution arrests and a heroin habit, according to parole board reports. She had been stabbed repeatedly, tied up with a rope, before being wrapped in plastic. Marcelin told parole officers that he wanted to be a pimp and that Miranda lived with him occasionally, and later told a Manhattan judge that she had been late with the rent.

“I was very nice to her but then she’d go out for two or three days and I didn’t know what she was doing,” he said.

Marcelin was convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to six to 12 years in prison.

State officials expressed concern over granting parole when Marcelin became eligible in the 1990s. During one State Parole Board hearing in 1997, Marcelin admitted to having “problems” with women, according to court records. Other boards had rejected parole citing Marcelin’s “attempt to place the blame” on the victims. He was released on August 7, 2019.

Marcelin described his male “side” as a “pimp” and blamed his female victims for inciting him to violence. “I tell them — there’s a side of me you don’t want to see… but they don’t listen,” he told The New York Post.

When asked about his tendency to erupt in a violent rage, Marcelin said his outbursts felt “liberating” as he could let his “macho side come out”. He went on to say that he “[covers] it up by being a woman” because he doesn’t like his “male rage.”

“Harvey’s not a good guy, he’s a tough guy,” Marcelin said, “Marceline’s nice and gentle and loving, you know, lots of laughter, fun to be with. She’s the one who’s perfectly normal.”

Marcelin’s presentation of his gender identity is similar to that of Washington state serial killer Donna Perry.

Perry murdered three prostituted women in a four-month timeframe in 1990. He managed to avoid suspicion following the heinous killings, and fled to Thailand in 2000 to undergo gender reassignment surgeries, after which he successfully concealed his identity for years.

It wasn’t until a 2012 DNA test following a conviction for illegal firearms possession that Perry was forensically connected to all three women’s murders.

During the trial proceedings, prosecutors contended that Perry had only undergone his gender changes to avoid suspicion for the murders and shirk justice. This was in part fueled by the fact Perry referred to his “male” and “female” identities in separate contexts, accusing his “male” side of having committed the crimes while his “female” identity was innocent of them.

He was found guilty in 2017, and in 2021 it was revealed that he had been transferred to the Washington Correctional Center for Women.

Transgender Cheerleader Kicked Out of Cheer Camp After Reportedly Choking Out Female Teammate

A trans-identified male cheerleader was given a criminal citation and removed from a Texas cheerleading camp after allegedly ‘choking out’ a female team member following comments over his gender identity.

On July 23, a Facebook post went viral in which a trans-identified male cheerleader claimed he had been kicked out of a cheer camp at Ranger College, a community college in Texas, after experiencing an incident of transphobia and racism. Averie Chanel Medlock, born Dmontrey Duval Satchell, posted a lengthy statement accusing cheerleading teammates and the College of discrimination.

“Well guys I’m officially retired as a cheerleader as of last night at 5:30 AM. A girl on the team was being very disrespectful and told me I am a MAN with a PENIS and that [guys] should not be on the team,” Medlock wrote, “I stood up for myself and she called her mom and dad because she was scared because I [stood] up for myself. Her father said ‘she still has testosterone and a penis and I will kill anyone who comes after my daughter.'”

Medlock, 25, then goes on to claim he got an assault charge despite not having done anything wrong, and continues on to accuse the team members of being racist. Medlock’s post got over 4,000 reactions on Facebook, and caught the attention of local media.

In an interview with KTAB, Medlock stated there had been a dispute, and that Karleigh Jones, a 17-year-old cheer teammate, then called her family and claimed she had been assaulted, soon after which the police and Jones’ parents showed up.

But the father of the cheerleader Medlock accused of racism and transphobia made his own statement on Facebook, offering a very different story.

In the post, Mike Jones writes: “I ask you what you would have done when receiving a phone call at 1 o’clock in the morning from your daughter stating they had locked themselves in the room with other girls,” asserting that Medlock had strangled his daughter after goading her with a threat, resulting in the female cheerleaders barricading themselves in a dorm room for safety.

“At no time did I ever say anything about your race or your gender,” Mike Jones says in address to Medlock, noting that he is pressing for the release of Police body camera footage, and CCTV recordings from the hallway outside of the dorm to demonstrate he and his daughter are telling the truth.

Some clips of videos taken on cellphones have emerged from the night of the incident, one of which demonstrates the female cheerleaders were locked in their room and trying to quell what appeared to be an outraged Medlock following the alleged strangulation.

One begins with a cheerleader saying: “we have nothing against you, Averie,” and asking Medlock to leave but he refuses. Medlock can be heard yelling “why did you call me a man,” and “come outside and man up … watch your back … don’t fuck with me outside of cheer.”

While Medlock claims he did not attempt to strangle Karleigh Jones, after Police arrived he was given a criminal citation for physical assault, and removed from the premises. Medlock would tell KTAB that he was “only joking” in reference to the physical contact.

All photos of Medlock appear to have been significantly altered, either by the use of extreme filters or what appears to be women’s faces superimposed over his own. A circulating photo from CCTV footage reveals Medlock looks notably different than the photos he utilizes on social media.

According to Medlock’s criminal citation, he will be expected to go to court, but police investigations are reportedly still ongoing into the incident.

Ranger College issued a brief statement on the incident to KTSM, reading: “Ranger College takes all allegations of this nature seriously and is committed to providing a learning environment free from discrimination. At this time, Ranger College is following all applicable Title IX regulations and Board Policies.”

“Mermaids Must Fall Next”: Is UK Trans Charity Mermaids To Blame For Tavistock?

Social media users have called for the UK-based trans activist charity Mermaids to be shut down following an announcement that the Tavistock Gender Identity clinic will close its doors by Spring 2023.

On July 27, it was announced that the National Health Service’s only gender identity clinic that provides medical transition services for children will close. The news followed a damning investigation into the Tavistock’s Gender Identity Development Service (GIDS) that was released in March of this year.

The review was the result of multiple whistleblowers coming forward with concerns about the clinic and its minor patients. Some said they felt Tavistock was engaging in gay conversion therapy for pursuing heavy-handed gender-based solutions and ignoring co-morbidities — such as autism — or sexuality conflicts.

The Cass review, independently performed by Dr. Hilary Cass, found that clinic was failing children. The review found that other mental health concerns were being overshadowed and going untreated. Dr. Cass also noted the lack of evidence of quality supporting the use of puberty blocking drugs.

“We cannot be sure about the impact of stopping these hormone surges on psychosexual and gender maturation. To date, there has been very limited research on the short, medium or longer-term impact of puberty blockers on neurocognitive development.”

The review even suggested that there was research to suggest puberty blockers may affect brain development.

“Brain maturation may be temporarily or permanently disrupted by puberty blockers, which could have significant impact on the ability to make complex risk-laden decisions, as well as possible longer-term neuropsychological consequences,” Dr. Hilary Cass stated.

The Cass review mirrors a study which was presented as evidence in the case of Bell v. Tavistock which asserted the “puberty blockers” Keira Bell had been given resulted in memory loss and developmental delays even after stopping treatment. In 2021, Bell, a detransitioner, penned an article discussing her experience with Tavistock, and noted the clinic only sought to ‘affirm’ the gender identity issue she was having, and did not properly asses her for any additional mental health concerns.

“When I was seen at the Tavistock clinic, I had so many issues that it was comforting to think I really had only one that needed solving: I was a male in a female body. But it was the job of the professionals to consider all my co-morbidities, not just to affirm my naïve hope that everything could be solved with hormones and surgery,” Bell wrote.

Bell’s long-fought case resulted in the temporary suspension of the administration of puberty blockers to youth under the age of 16, but this decision was overturned on appeal.

Following the announcement of the planned closure of Tavistock’s GIDS, #Mermaids began trending on Twitter. Feminist academic Dr. Kathleen Stock tweeted, “Mermaids must fall next” shortly after the announcement. Her tweet gained 7,900 Likes at the time of writing.

Mermaids is a UK registered charity which claims to support “transgender, nonbinary and gender-diverse children, young people, and their families.” Established in 1995, Mermaids advocates for an affirmation only approach to gender dysphoria in young people and promotes the use of puberty blockers, cross sex hormones, and surgeries even for minors.

Many blame Mermaids for putting pressure on NHS staff to prescribe puberty blockers and cross sex hormones to children with gender confusion.

Sue and Marcus Evans were two of multiple whistleblowers who raised concerns about Tavistock’s GIDS. In an interview, Marcus Evans, a Psychoanalyst and formerly a Consultant Psychotherapist and Associate Clinical Director of Adult and Adolescent Service at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust, explained the close relationship between Mermaids and the clinic. Evans described the relationship as “unusually close” which “interfered with the ordinary clinical environment.”

One former clinician at Tavistock also said that the narrative from Mermaid was “everywhere [within the service],” continuing: “Mermaids are always saying this is a matter of life and death. ‘Would you rather an alive boy or a dead girl?'”

While Mermaids boats of puberty blockers being a “temporary” and “safe” way to pause development while a child determines what gender identity suits them best, the Cass review told a very different story about the drugs. The review noted that children prescribed puberty blockers were on a medical pathway to cross sex hormones, with very few desisting to complete their natural puberty.

A 2008 Dutch review of medical literature found that 64% of children who did not go on hormone blocking treatment desist or stop seeking treatment. The Cass review also concluded that putting a child on puberty blocking hormones meant they were almost certainly going to go onto cross sex hormone treatment.

Dr. Marci Bowers, a leading sex reassignment surgeon, admitted that children who are put on puberty blockers and who later go on to cross sex hormones will never be able to achieve an orgasm as adults if they had not done so prior to starting their hormone treatment.

Hormone blocking treatment is also said to prevent a persons genitals from developing, leaving them with stunted sex organs. For boys, this makes future genital reassignment surgeries more complex, something the CEO of Mermaids, Susie Green admitted had affected her own son in a 2012 documentary.

“There wasn’t much there to work with,” Green said in reference to her son’s vaginoplasty.

Green had taken her son to America for “puberty blockers” before they were legal in the UK. When he was 16, she took him to Thailand for sex reassignment surgery due to it having been illegal in the United Kingdom for minors.

While Green insists her son’s transition was his choice, a Ted Talk Green gave in 2017 has some LGB activists concerned as she seemed to suggest her son had been put through a form of conversion therapy.

During the presentation, Green confessed that her now ex-husband had disciplined her son for playing with toys associated with girls as a toddler.

“Jack’s dad did not approve of our child’s effeminate behavior,” she explained, “Then all the “girl toys” or “girly toys” as such were taken away and put away, and Jack was made aware that this was not appropriate. And suddenly, a confident, happy little boy became quite quiet, withdrawn, very clingy, and tearful.” She continued. Shortly after, her son began to say he wanted to be a girl.

Green reached out to Mermaids for support, and would become so active within the organization she would later become the CEO.

It is known that Green held regular meetings with GIDS senior management, and campaigned for puberty blockers to be prescribed, and for Mermaids to be advertised as a recommended resource on the GIDS website. Green was also listed as a contributor to the development of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health’s Standards of Care guidelines on children despite having no clinical qualifications. A two-part Reduxx investigation conducted in May found that the WPATH guidelines were also influenced by pedophilic castration fetishists.

As well as recommending medicalization to children and their families, Mermaids has also been found to have referred youth to a private healthcare service — GenderGP.

Dr. Michael Webberley of GenderGP was recently found guilty of recklessly prescribing puberty blockers and cross sex hormones to patients as young as 9.

Amongst the ethical violations that were uncovered about his practice was a case wherein he had prescribed hormone replacement therapy to a 17-year-old girl with autism “when it was not clinically indicated, and without establishing whether the risks were lower than the risks to the patient’s mental and physical health.” The patient tragically took her own life 3 months later.

Mermaids has since removed GenderGP from their website, but discussions about the service have continued to be found on the Mermaids website forums since then.

On July 29, Dr. Helen Webberley announced on twitter that GenderGP will “take up the slack” and continue to provide puberty blockers to minors even if the NHS stops providing them due to concerns about their safety.

Dr. Webberley was recently suspended from her medical practice for putting three girls (aged 11, 12 and 17) at “unwarranted risk of harm” for failing to follow up with them after providing hormone treatments. She also failed to explain the risk of fertility complications the treatments may cause to the 11 year old girl. Dr. Webberly was previously convicted of running a medical agency without being registered in 2018.

In addition to the GenderGP scandal, Mermaids received significant backlash on social media in 2020 after their educational programs were leaked. Mermaids staff had carried out training in 40 schools funded by the Department of education. During the training, they used a graph to explain the “gender spectrum,” which showed a barbie on one side and a GI Joe on the other.

Audio of the training session was also released online, during which the training provider referred to girls as “barbies” and boys as “GI Joes.”

Once information about the sessions began to circulate, many were quick to point out that it appeared to teach children that playing with toys of associated with the opposite sex would make them “transgender,” potentially leading them down the medical pathway.

Following backlash, Mermaids released a statement saying “no teacher has ever been encouraged by any LGBTQ+ organization to state that ‘tomboys’ should be transgender,” but went on to state: “Due to the gendered society in which we live, transgender children can sometimes express their gender identities through toys and clothes along with many other factors.”

Currently, Mermaids is in the process of suing the United Kingdom’s charity commission for awarding charitable status to LGB Alliance, an organization centered on advocating for the rights of same-sex attracted people.

Crowdsourcing the effort, Mermaids has raised over £73,000 to fund the legal campaign. LGB Alliance and Mermaids differ ideologically on their position about the correct pathway for children with gender dysphoria. LGB Alliance advocates have asserted that many gay people display gender nonconformity as youth. They state that medicalising children with gender dysphoria is a form of gay conversion therapy.

“It’s a scandal that the majority of young people referred to gender clinics and subsequently prescribed puberty blockers are same-sex attracted. This is homophobic in the extreme and must be tackled. There has been a 4,000% increase in the number of girls referred to clinics and we want the government to consider how social contagion, the influence of the pharma industry and homophobia is persuading children, many of them girls, that their same-sex attraction is a sign that they must ‘really’ be boys.” LGB Alliance state on their website as part of their “Gay teens aren’t sick” campaign.

On social media, many users have thrown their support behind LGB Alliance in the legal effort, with some calling for Mermaids to have their charitable status revoked rather than LGBA.

With the closure of Tavistock’s gender identity service, Dr. Cass recommended the creation of a network of regional services to provide care and support, a recommendation accepted by the NHS.

Although many celebrate the news of the closure, others worry that political lobby groups like Mermaids will infiltrate and influence any new services established to treat children experiencing distress with their sex.

Trans Redditor Was Behind US Supreme Court Justice Assassination Attempt

Newly-released court documents have revealed that the California man behind an assassination attempt on Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh identified as transgender and used the name “Sophie” on social media. Nicholas John Roske, 26, was indicted on charges of attempted assassination on June 15.

Roske traveled from Simi Valley to Chevy Chase, Maryland on June 8 with the intention of murdering Justice Brett Kavanaugh at his home. At approximately 1 a.m., Roske pulled up to Kavanaugh’s home with a black suitcase that included a legally purchased Glock 17 pistol and ammunition, tactical gear, pepper spray, a thermal monocular, a laser, and burglary tools.

Kavanaugh’s home had been under secure monitoring by U.S Marshals in wake of the Roe v. Wade leak. After exchanging a glance with one of the Marshals, Roske phoned the Montgomery County Emergency Communications Center and told the call taker that he was having suicidal thoughts and was carrying a firearm in his suitcase. Roske also told the emergency center employee that he had come from California with the intention of killing a Supreme Court Justice.

Montgomery County police officers were dispatched to the location and arrested Roske, who then told a detective that he was upset about the leaked Supreme Court draft decision on the overturning of Roe v. Wade, which had secured abortion as a constitutional right.

In the weeks leading up to the failed assassination attempt, Roske was soliciting information on how to commit murder from forum members on Reddit and within Discord servers.

FBI agents discovered a conversation that took place over Discord dated May 25, 2022, between Roske and another user. Roske, who was using the screen name “Sophie42,” revealed that he was plotting to carry out a triple homicide.

“I could get a least one, which would change the votes for decades to come, and I am shooting for 3,” he wrote.

The court documents, filed at the US District Court in Maryland, revealed the would-be assassin was active in multiple Reddit communities and claimed to identify as transgender in multiple posts. On an unspecified date in April, Roske posed a question to users on women’s subreddit r/TwoXChromosomes, asking: “Would Kavanaugh being removed from the SC [Supreme Court] help women long term?”

One of the ads posted by Roske on Reddit.

Under the username u/AmericanNick, Roske posted personal ads requesting the company of women and claiming to be a trans-identified male.

“I am a 24 year old [sic] MtF college graduate looking for a woman to cuddle and watch movies with… If this turns into making out, etc that’s cool,” Roske wrote in a subreddit for singles in the Seattle area.

In r/GamerPals, Roske advertised for “girls only,” and wrote a personals ad titled: “F4F [female for female] 25 PST Trans Gamer Girl Seeking Friend.” Roske would also get into a debate on a post made on the a masturbation abstinence subreddit r/NoFap to defend pornography from users who were critiquing its harmful effects.

Writing in the forum r/SerialKillers, Roske asked members “which serial killer was the most careful?” before going on to explain: “by most careful I mean planned things out, very conscious of leaving evidence, purposefully trying to avoid having a pattern.”

He would also ask questions on how a serial killer might commit crimes without leaving evidence, claiming the question was for a book he was writing.

While Roske would claim his motive for seeking to assassinate Supreme Court justices was based in concern for women’s reproductive rights, his Reddit history shows he has been fascinated with the concept of murdering people long before the Roe v. Wade leak.

In December of 2021, Roske posed a question to the r/AskReddit community, asking what the implications of “7 million random people” dying might be.

The search history on Roske’s phone for the period of May 5 to June 8 included the following terms and phrases: “quietest semi auto rifle,” how to be stealthy,” “assassin skills” and “most effective place to stab someone.”

Additionally, he told another person he planned to “remove some people from the Supreme Court” in order to “stop roe v wade [sic] from being overturned” in a disturbing forum conversation revealed by the search warrant.

Reddit moderators have begun deleting incriminating posts made by Roske, but the activity can be seen in archived logs.

Women’s March Attacks Feminists, Supported a Pedophile Who Heckled Rape Survivor

On of the largest women’s rights activist organizations in the United States has come under fire for a series of social media posts attacking feminists who advocate for single sex spaces. But as the backlash has continued to swell, many are pointing to the group’s history of platforming dangerous males.

On July 20, the official Women’s March Twitter account sparked widespread discussion after posting a series of tweets attacking “TERFs” and asserting that males could become women.

Women’s March rose from an international protest held on January 21, 2017 – the day after U.S. former president Donald Trump was elected. It was the largest single-day protest in U.S. history, and prompted demonstrations of support all over the world.

Responding to the statement made by the Women’s March, many commenters expressed disappointment, which they saw as belittling those who disagree with the view that males can identify into womanhood.

But the organization doubled down on the taunts, referring to their critics as ‘transphobes’ and demanding that discussions surrounding reproductive rights omit the word ‘woman’ and instead utilize the phrase ‘people who can give birth.’

But while many are only just becoming aware of the organization’s positions which appear to place males ahead of the needs of women, Women’s March has a lengthy history of doing so.

On January 22, 2017, Women’s March invited Cherno Biko, co-founder of the organization Black Trans Lives Matter, to be a keynote speaker for their main march. Just one year prior in July of 2016, Biko had penned a lurid admission to having sexually assaulted a transgender female. Biko quickly deleted the post, but the Medium post was archived by concerned readers.

In the post, Biko wrote that the purpose of the assault had been to impregnate the woman with “non-binary babies” in an attempt to create a “holy trinity” family.

“I found the second piece to the holy trinity I wanted to create, complete with a black trans man and our black non-binary baby… The first time we had sex I can barely remember, as it followed a night of drinking and smoking but I know that we broke two of the most important rules… consent and safe sex. When [she] told me that [she] felt used and violated, I immediately apologized.”

Throughout the admission, Biko attempted to garner sympathy from the readers: “The next morning I called my mother in tears and asked, ‘What happens when the victim turns into the abuser?'”

Just months before the admission, Biko had given a speech at the White House for Trans Day Of Visibility, and attended The United State of Women, hosted by President Obama, and First Lady Michelle Obama.

Disturbingly, Biko is not the only case of Women’s March platforming a reportedly dangerous male.

In 2018, the official Women’s March Twitter account shared an article written by Andi Dier, a trans-identified male, after he heckled actress Rose McGowan during a book launch event in New York. McGowan, a leading Me Too campaigner, was promoting her memoir Brave, in which she details having been raped by now-disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein.

As Rose was sharing a story with the audience regarding her grief and recovery from assault, Dier began screaming at her from the crowd, shouting: “We get raped more often. We go through domestic violence more often. Trans women are in men’s prisons, and what have you done for them?”

Despite derailing the testimony of a female survivor of sexual assault, Dier was provided widespread sympathetic media coverage after McGowan was deemed “transphobic” for having asserted that females experienced a unique oppression on the basis of their sex.

As Dier received lauding media attention, disturbing allegations that he had raped young girls began to surface.

Tweets dating back to 2013 accused Dier of preying on girls as young as 11 years old. Multiple women came forward stating they had been sexually abused by him as children, while some pointed out that he had been sharing animated child sexual abuse materials (CSAM) on his social media accounts.

“Andi Dier personally sexually assaulted me and two of my friends when we were 13 years old,” read one of the claims. A tweet from 2013 asked, “Does Andi Dier still go to the mall every weekend to hang out with 13 year-old girls?”

Screenshots began to circulate of Dier’s AskFM blog, which he promptly deleted, showing instances of Dier admitting to having a pedophilic interest in young girls.

“I like younger girls in the same way I like brunettes… Age is an insignificant marker. I like cute girls, sometimes they happen to be a bit young,” Dier wrote.

“It’s f-cked up for someone to tell me I don’t deserve my freedoms because they feel uncomfortable,” Dier wrote in another blog post. “You don’t mystically wake up one day with the ability to consent. You have it before you’re 18.”

In a fawning interview with Dier posted to a personal blog, a photo of him wearing a ribbon in his hair is captioned: “She’s pretty sure she can pass as a 12 year-old girl and that scares her a little.”

It was discovered Dier was also active in Reddit forums dedicated to sharing rape-themed pornography, while simultaneously posting in subreddits for rape survivors.

In r/rapefantasies, Dier posted a photo of himself with the caption, “trans lesbian r*pemeat needs to be f*cked straight.” In the community intended to support victims of sexual abuse, Dier was shaming women who shared stories of survival.

“If a girl was obeying me after I said ‘get on your knees’, I’d think she was consenting.” He told one victim. In another case, Dier told a survivor: “you can’t compare [rape] to not wanting to do something and going along with it.” Dier also shared his sexual assault fantasies to the survival subreddit.

Among accounts that were retweeted by Dier included “leggyteenfilms” and “teenobsessed”. Dier was ‘liking’ photos of underage girls and following several accounts that either claimed to be minors or self-described as “MAPs” – an acronym for “minor-attracted person.”

Despite Biko and Dier’s disturbing histories, Women’s March has never issued an apology or retraction.

Trans Musician Calls for Murder of JK Rowling and “TERFs”

A trans-identified musician who was at the center of the Wi Spa controversy has released a music video calling for the murder of feminists. Precious Child, who was profiled sympathetically by The Guardian last year, dedicated the violent music video to acclaimed author JK Rowling.

“This song and video is dedicated to every single filthy TERF and MRA in existence. Special shout out to JK Rowling! All billionaires are trash but you’re special,” the musician wrote in the video description.

Still from a YouTube post featuring “TERF Killer”

The video, titled TERF Killer, features images of bullets and of a knife stabbing into the air before the words “kill a TERF today” flash repeatedly across the screen.

Precious Child first came to the attention of media in June of 2021 after the Wi Spa incident, which made international headlines after a woman filmed herself questioning staff about the presence of a naked man in the women’s area of the spa. According to the woman, the man was “slightly erect” and in full view of women and children.

“It’s okay for a man to go into the women’s section, show his penis around the other women, young little girls — underage — in your spa?” she asked a spa cashier. A video of her confrontation with staff went viral after she uploaded it to her Instagram account, and it was quickly distributed across social media platforms.

In a now-deleted post from his Instagram, Precious Child appeared to suggest he was the trans-identified male who had been at the spa that day, resulting in online commentators repeating that claim.

“I have been called a ‘vile monster trans’ for allegedly using the women’s section of a nude spa in Los Angeles,” Precious Child wrote, “Thankfully, that would be protected under California law.”

After Precious Child came out and stated he was not the individual who had been at the spa, mainstream media outlets were quick to decry the video as a “transphobic hoax” and a demonstration was staged by trans activists on July 3.

Precious Child was among the counter-protesters and took to social media to promote the demonstration.

“Los Angeles – stand with me this Saturday against this anti-trans protest at Wi Spa! To be clear, I’m pro-human-body in all it’s manifestations. Genitals are a non-vestigial component of life. I’m also sick of children being leveraged for apathetic moral agendas,” he tweeted days before.

During the protests, a lesbian woman was surrounded by a crowd that screamed at her to “go home” and called her transphobic. Gaye Chapman, owner of After Ellen, a site for lesbian and bisexual women, was shoved and had water poured on her.

After Precious Child received backlash for appearing to claim responsibility for the Wi Spa locker room incident he reportedly received a flood of abusive messages, leading to a Guardian article being published with the headline, A Nightmare Scenario: How An Anti-Trans Instagram Post Led To Violence In The Streets.’

While many outlets maintained the original Instagram video was a “hoax,” in August, a male was charged by the Los Angeles Police Department in relation to the incident, and he was soon revealed to be a serial sex offender.

Darren Agee Merager, a convicted criminal with a long record including indecent exposure, was identified as the man who entered the women’s section while nude. LAPD issued a community notice stating that Merager would “claim to identify as female” in order to gain access to women’s locker rooms.

According to law enforcement, Merager is a tier-one registered sex offender with two prior convictions of indecent exposure that took place in 2002 and 2003 California. Then, in 2008, he was convicted for failing to register as a sex offender.

Merager had previously been banned from Wi Spa in 2019 due to complaints of having an erection in the women’s section, yet was able to enter in 2021 on account of wearing a mask. Speaking to the The New York Post, Merager insisted that he was the victim and referred to the multiple warrants for his arrest as “kidnapping.”

Around the same time Merager was identified, Precious Child released a music video titled Tear Up, in which he is seen assaulting women in a spa locker room with a large, phallic weapon. After he attacks them, they swoon adoringly over his body. The track was an advance release from his album “AR-15s for Transgender Teens” which was released in February of 2022.

Another track, TERF Killer, was released “in honor of the Wi Spa anniversary” and with a “special dedication to JK Rowling and gender critical fuqs [sic].” Precious Child also targeted Rowling in June when he posted a video clip to his Instagram which featured a trans pride badge which read: “JK Rowling would like fans to stop making plans for her death.”

This is hardly the first incident involving violent threats aimed at JK Rowling in recent weeks.

On July 1, Rowling set off a firestorm of concern from netizens after uploading a screenshot of a disturbing tweet that had been directed at her from June 14.

Originally posted by user @fuckfinegael, the quote retweet featured two images — one of Rowling with her address overlayed on her face and a pipe bomb in the corner, and the other of an Improvised Munitions Handbook. The guide, originally published by the US Army in 1969, was created for the purposes of teaching soldiers how to create explosives and weapons using limited resources.

On July 3, Reduxx revealed the individual behind the account that had threatened Rowling was an Irish social justice activist who had been certified in suicide prevention.

UK: Woman Removed from Community Event After Being Deemed ‘Transphobic’

A British woman who found herself expelled from a community event after an organizer deemed her “transphobic” is planning on taking legal action for having been discriminated against on the basis of her gender critical views.

On July 26th, Fiona Ryan took to Twitter to share her shocking exchange with a Committee Member for People in the Park, an annual community event at Salisbury’s Queen Elizabeth Gardens that features local small businesses selling environmentally-friendly products.

Ryan uploaded screenshots of an exchange she had with a People in the Park committee member, who advised her that comments she had made on local social media platform NextDoor “showed strong views against the LGBT community which we don’t feel fits the community theme of our event.”

Speaking to Reduxx, Ryan explains the conversation on NextDoor occurred long before she had applied to pitch a stall at the event. She had been engaging in a debate with a man named Andy, who had become offended after she voiced her opposition to Penny Mordaunt, a contender for the UK Conservative Party’s leadership.

“I felt she was uncomfortably okay with the deconstruction of women’s rights in favor of gender ideology,” Ryan says, “This guy appears and calls me homophobic and transphobic.”

Ryan says she tried to keep the conversation cordial, but that Andy was extremely offended at her perspective on women’s sex-based rights.

“I’ve given up arguing that the sky is blue with these people… So I don’t have the argument anymore. I just say: Look, you have that mindset, and I disagree. I hope you can see how telling people they can change sex, or treating people like they can change sex is harmful. It’s not that I am trying to harm anyone, but I am entirely focused on the rights of women and girls.”

Ryan explains that she tried showing Andy examples of violent males in women’s prisons, but the man doubled-down and continued to call her bigoted.

“I then told him: I will concede that you are not saying these things from a place of harm, and I am simply asking for the same respect.”

But shortly after the conversation ended, Ryan says she found she had been suspended from NextDoor after her account had been reported. At the time, she didn’t think much of it.

After losing her job earlier this year, Ryan launched a soap-making company called Salisbury Soaps, which has an emphasis on making plastic-free, handmade soap products. Speaking to Reduxx, Ryan says she heard about People in the Park about one month ago, and felt her products were a good fit for the event’s theme of sustainability. Ryan says she had no idea the same man she had engaged in a debate with on NextDoor was affiliated with the organization for the event.

Ryan paid a £40 reservation fee, and began to collect supplies in preparation for opening her booth. She paid approximately £250 for moulds and a pre-licensed vegan recipe she thought would be a hit with the customer base.

“I am a disabled mother-of-three… this was quite a lot of money for me,” she explains, but says that she was excited to have the chance to show her plastic-free products to members of her community.

The next day, Ryan received an email from Andy, who was representing the People in the Park committee, formally disallowing her from attending the event as a merchant.

After citing a guideline on “equality,” Andy stated that Ryan’s NextDoor posts showed “strong views against the LGBT community,” and that her pitch was being withdrawn.

Confused and shocked, Ryan sent Andy a reply.

“I have been offered, accepted and paid for a stall at this event. My focus on the rights of women, girls and children is not at odds with my opinions on the environment, it is very much in line,” Ryan wrote, “… the only thing I have said on NextDoor, or any other application, is that there are two sides to any debate and that people who insist biological markers define things like sport, law (including prison placements) and society (including girls changing facilities and washrooms) are doing so from a position of care and consideration for women and girls, not out of cruelty.”

Her email went unanswered. Hurt and upset, she took to Twitter and published the exchange, not expecting a tremendous response considering the small size of her Twitter account. But once the post began circulating in the online gender critical community, it began wracking up thousands of ‘likes’ and outraged comments.

Ryan says she was heartened when she saw a flood of placing through orders on her site to show their support for her small business.

“I’d say I lost out on probably £1,000 in sales at People in the Park. But it was the community connections that were more important to me, and those have been taken away,” she says, “I am part of this community, and because I will not concede that men become women, I was excluded.”

Ryan tells Reduxx she is now planning legal action against People in the Park on the basis of violating the 2010 Equality Act and discriminating against her because of her gender critical beliefs, which are a protected characteristic in the United Kingdom. Ryan points to the recent legal victories of Allison Bailey and Maya Forstater as having “paved the way” for women to be able to better advocate for their rights in court.

“I am a disabled woman and I am gender critical. I have had to put up with so much of this stuff for years. I have been treated like a leper simply because I refuse to say that men become women when they say so,” she says, continuing: “I am going to stick my head above the precipice here because I feel like I should for all the women who can’t.”

Moving forward, Ryan jokes that she has a bright future in selling suffragette-colored dinosaur soap to the gender critical feminist community.

“I’ve bought all the moulds, pretty dinosaur moulds. It is going to be a little surprise for the women,” she says, noting that a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the suffragette soaps will go to a local women’s refuge, which she is also planning on donating care packages to.

“Freedom of speech is essential for democracy. You cannot stop people from speaking their mind, even if you don’t like it,” Ryan says, “If we stopped looking at people as whether they are deserving of the right to have an opinion and open the line of communication between people who disagree, I feel like everyone would be more lovely to each other.”

Florida Gov. DeSantis Files Complaint Against Club That Exposed Child To Topless Drag Queen

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has filed a complaint against R House Wynwood, the Miami LBGTQ club after a TikTok which showed a toddler being led around by a semi-nude transgender Drag Queen during an event there went viral earlier this month.

The complaint, filed on Tuesday through the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, states that the club’s weekend Drag Show Brunch events expose minors to sexually explicit and otherwise inappropriate content. The news was first broken via an exclusive on Brietbart, a conservative media outlet.

“The nature of the performances described above, particularly when conducted in the presence of young children, corrupts the public morals and outrages the sense of public decency,” the complaint says.

R House Wynwood is a Latin bar and club in Miami catering to the LGBTQ community. On its website, the multi-purpose venue advertises hosting a ‘Drag Extravaganza‘ on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings. Last year, Secret Miami ranked R House #1 on a list of “Fabulous LGBTQ Bars To Check Out In Miami.”

On June 2, popular YouTuber Lauren Chen posted a TikTok she had found to her Twitter, writing: “These people belong in jail. This is a hill I’m willing to die on.”

The disturbing footage appeared to show a girl aged 3 to 5 being led by a provocatively dressed transgender drag queen. The drag queen only had nipple pasties covering his breast implants, and money stuffed into the skimpy g-string of his outfit.

The girl was being held by the hand as the drag queen strut through a restaurant area, and se is seen continuously looking up at the man’s exposed body. The child also appeared to also be clutching a few dollar bills in her free hand, indicating she had been collecting money from the spectators.

Overlayed onto the video was the text: “Children belong at drag shows!!!! Children deserve to see fun & expression & freedom!”

The source of the video posted by Chen was TikTok by user Nonie Kalra, who uploaded the original to her account just hours before Chen called attention to it. Kalra had tagged R House Wynwood in the upload, revealing where the incident had taken place. The video has since been removed.

DeSantis filed the state complaint in direct response to the viral TikTok, and R House Wynwood has 21 days to respond or it risks losing its liquor license, a move which would likely spell the end for its business in the Miami retail hotspot.

In preparation for the complaint’s filing, the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation’s Division of Alcohol and Tobacco sent investigators to R House Wynwood to inspect the conduct during multiple Drag Queen events on July 9, July 17 and July 23. During at least two of the visits, investigators describe that children were present and exposed to inappropriate conduct.

Investigators looked through the establishment’s social media pages, and found pictures and videos of multiple children involved in past events with the venue’s drag queens performing in sexually suggestive ways.

The complaint outlines the discovery of a recording made at one of the brunches in which a child “no more than 10” was exposed to a dancer gyrating in front of her while wearing a skin-tight outfit with suggestive cut-outs. The recording was uploaded to YouTube on September 14, 2021.

They also noted that the “Drag Brunch” included a specialty menu specifically targeted at minors under the age of 12.

“In other words, [R House Wynwood] is not merely aware that young children attend the Brunch, but specifically markets the Brunch performances to young children or to families with young children,” the complaint states.

At a Press Conference in Tampa held today, DeSantis says what occurred at the venue was “not consistent with our law and policy in the state of Florida,” adding that it was part of “a disturbing trend in our society to try to sexualize” youth.

DeSantis continued: “[This] is not the way you look out for our children, you protect children, you do not expose them to things that are inappropriate.”

Speaking to Reduxx, DeSantis Press Secretary Christina Pushaw expressed concern over the viral TikTok that had initiated the DeSantis administration’s complaint.

“If this was a woman exotic dancer, I guarantee kids would not be allowed in there.” Pushaw said, “But because it’s a male who identifies as a woman, somehow it’s cool and should be marketed to children!”

But Pushaw emphasized that that Florida “does not have that double standard,” and asserted that children should never be involved in any adult entertainment whatsoever.

Drag shows and their appropriateness for youth have become hot topics over the last few years, especially since the controversial spread of Drag Queen Story Hours across North America and Europe. In 2019, it was discovered that a registered sex offender had been performing at a Texas library for children as a Drag Queen.

On June 24, a Pennsylvania-based drag queen with a history of performing in front of children was charged with 25 counts of the possession and distribution of child sexual exploitation material following a 2-year long investigation by law enforcement officials.

Earlier in June, a video of ‘drag queens’ performing provocatively for an audience of children at a gay bar in Texas went viral on Twitter, prompting massive backlash and raising concerns about child safeguarding. The children were seated in front of a sign which read “It’s Not Gonna Lick Itself” as they watched drag queens perform, tipping the adults in cash.

UPDATE 7/27/22: Comments from Christina Pushaw, the Press Secretary to Governor DeSantis, as well as additional details from the complaint, were added in post.
