Ex-Kindergarten Director’s ‘Child Pornography’ Conviction Overturned on Loophole

A former director of a kindergarten in Hong Kong has had a conviction for producing ‘child pornography’ overturned on a legal loophole. In addition to having recorded nine videos of women using the bathroom at his home, Eric Ma Cho-yiu filmed a three-year-old girl using the toilet.

Ma was initially arrested in late 2018 after the intimate recordings of women were discovered, including footage of three of his colleagues at the Belvedere Garden branch of Joyful World International Nursery and Kindergarten in Tsuen Wan. He was immediately fired by his employer.

But police released Ma in 2019 after the Court of Final Appeal ruled that the charge of “obtaining access to a computer for criminal or dishonest gain” should not apply in incidents which involve a suspect’s own digital device. Prior to October 2021, Hong Kong did not specifically criminalize voyeurism – the filming of private individuals in public without their knowledge.

As the ruling opened legal loopholes, prosecutors accused the former kindergarten director of producing child pornography, using the video of the three-year-old girl as evidence.

Ma was jailed for three months in August 2020 after a magistrate ruled that the footage of the young girl fell within the classification of “pornographic depiction” of a child under the Prevention of Child Pornography Ordinance.

But High Court Justice Joseph Yau Chi-lap overturned the conviction, saying the recording neither depicted a person “being engaged in explicit sexual conduct” nor the female genitals “in a sexual manner or context.”

According to the South China Morning Post, Justice Chi-lap told the court, “The footage showed a young girl who exposed her genitals in the toilet without any direct and indirect sexual element. No matter what perspective is adopted to examine the situation, one can hardly regard it as sexual conduct as defined under ‘pornographic depiction.’

“While the exposed parts were a girl’s sex organs, the circumstances in which they were exposed did not involve sex, nor were they unnecessarily exposed to promote obscenity,” he asserted.
However, Chi-lap stressed that Ma’s criminal intent was “crystal clear,” as seen by the other clandestine recordings of women in his home bathroom.

“Without a doubt, he has benefited from our stringent judicial regime,” judge Chi-lap said. “He should learn this lesson, failing which he will definitely be caught again one day.”

The legislation introduced to the Crimes Ordinance in October last year defined voyeurism as observing or recording the intimate acts of others. It also criminalized the unlawful recording or observation of the intimate parts of a person for a sexual purpose, such as upskirting or taking photographs down a person’s shirt.

The legal amendments prohibit the publication and proliferation of images or video originating from unlawful recordings, as well as threatening to publish intimate images or videos without consent.
The maximum sentence for each violation is up to five years in jail.

Trans-Identified Male Charged With Child Sexual Abuse

A man who identifies as transgender is facing child sexual abuse charges for attempting to arrange to rape a child and for possession of child sexual abuse materials.

Jude ‘Babs’ Longmire, 41, of Billings, Montana, began speaking with an unnamed individual via social media who he believed was a child sex trafficker, according to prosecutors. He connected with the individual via social media, and was under the impression they were advertising a child for sex in another county. Longmire then tried to schedule a meeting with a 12-year-old. During the conversation with the alleged trafficker, he also sent a video showing a man raping a child, court documents state.

Longmire allegedly boasted that he had more child sex abuse material, and told the person who posted the ad that his collection ranged from “really young to mid teens, boys and girls.”

A local FBI agent, with the assistance of the Billings Police Department, investigated the conversation, then obtained a search warrant to examine Longmire’s residence. Longmire was arrested on March 15, and the following day authorities uncovered child sexual abuse materials, including videos, on Longmire’s phone.

Longmire pleaded not guilty on March 17 in Yellowstone County District Court to attempted sexual abuse of children and sexual abuse of children.

If convicted of attempted sexual abuse of children, Longmire could be sentenced up to 100 years in prison, not eligible for parole for 25 years and a fine of up to $10,000, according to the Billings Gazette.

An alternative count of sexual abuse of children has been filed by Yellowstone County prosecutors, on the basis that Longmire knowingly possessed a video of the rape of a child.

If convicted of the alternative charge, Longmire could be sentenced to up to 10 years in prison and fined up to $50,000.

Local coverage of Longmire refrained from using any gendered pronouns for him at all, and did not mention he was transgender. But Longmire prominently features photos of himself and the transgender flag on his Facebook, and declared he had started hormone replacement therapy in 2018 on his Instagram.

Outcry As Man Wins NCAA Women’s Swimming Title

University of Pennsylvania swimmer Lia Thomas became the first male athlete to win a Division I national championship in a women’s sport by self-declaring his gender identity.

Lia Thomas, a biological male, overtook his female competitors on Thursday to decisively place first in the 500-yard freestyle at the NCAA women’s swimming and diving championships at Georgia Tech.

During the competition, the crowd cheered as each of the swimmers were introduced, but fans were noticeably quiet for both Thomas’ introduction and wins.

Women’s rights campaigners were in attendance, including Kellie-Jay Keen Minshull of Standing for Women. Author and activist Linda Blade, as well as Save Women’s Sports founder Beth Stelzer also made their voices heard, as Stelzer draped a banner with the organization’s slogan over the railing.

In a widely-shared video clip shared by National Review writer Madeline Kearns, Keen Minshull can be heard arguing with a detractor and emphasizing that Thomas is a man.

During a protest which took place outside the Georgia-Tech athletic center where the competition was being held, Keen Minshull told Fox News, “There’s a man, called Will Thomas, who’s changed his name to Lia Thomas, who is competing in women’s swimming.”

She added, “Women aren’t considered full humans. We can’t be – otherwise there wouldn’t be an opportunity for men to compete in women’s sports.”

Netizens on social media were quick to point out that had Thomas not competed, the NCAA championship winners would have been Emma Weyant in first, Erica Sullivan in second, and Brooke Forde in third. All three women represented the United States in the 2020 Olympics.

When Lia Thomas was announced as the first place recipient, the crowd was again quiet.

Weyant, Sullivan, and Forde gathered together on the podium for a cheerful embrace in a photograph that has been shared widely across social media.

On Social media, several prominent female athletes voiced their opposition to Thomas’ participation in the women’s division.

Three-time Olympic swimmer Sharron Davies tweeted, “How in 2022 are we going backwards so fast in women’s rights?” She also condemned those who were not yet speaking out. Davies has expressed her views regarding the significance of biological sex in sport on several occasions prior.

Two-time Olympic runner Mara Yamauchi incredulously pointed out that Thomas had outpaced Olympic silver-medalist Emma Weyant, calling Thomas an “average male who couldn’t even make it into the top 500 student rankings.”

But competing in the Ivy League Championships in February, Thomas broke a total of six women’s records, and had in the past been accused, by an anonymous teammate, of deliberately losing a race in order to downplay his physical advantage.

Four-time Olympic medalist Nancy Hogshead-Makar has spent years addressing the topic, and in a December editorial for Swimming World Magazine, she wrote: “Sport has been set up as binary with males and females, and sport needs to adapt by adding new events and classifications, rather than throwing out the meaning of the ‘girls’ and ‘women’s’ categories. Rather than trying to squeeze transgender athletes into one-of-two categories, male or female, sport needs to adapt.”

Renowned tennis champion and one of the first openly lesbian sportswomen, Martina Navratilova, entered the fray. In an interview with News Nation, she placed the blame on sporting regulatory bodies for refusing to set clear and fair rules, saying, “the rules are not correct,” and suggested an “open category” for athletes as an alternative to men competing in women’s sports.

Swimming World Magazine’s editor-in-chief John Lohn published an opinion piece in response to Thomas’ win titled, ‘NCAA Title For Lia Thomas Is Joke With Biological Women As Punchline; Hardly a Laughing Matter.’

“Between petitions organized by Champion Women and the Women’s Sports Policy Working Group, more than 5,000 signatures were obtained, including almost 300 from Olympians or Olympic coaches,” noted Lohn, who then continued, “Maybe the NCAA Champs should have been delayed until April 1. After all, the Lia Thomas situation, spurred by the NCAA, has long been a joke – although not a laughing matter.”

On February 1, USA Swimming released new guidelines stating that male athletes could only compete in women’s events if they had undergone 3 consecutive years of testosterone-reduction treatment. The rule would have meant that Thomas could not compete, but 10 days later the NCAA walked down their regulations, announcing that they would only require one year of testosterone-reduction, arguing that it was unfair to change their rules mid-season.

“Implementing additional changes at this time could have unfair and potentially detrimental impacts on schools and student-athletes intending to compete in 2022 NCAA women’s swimming championships,” the organization said in a statement.

“It means the world to be here,” Thomas said in an interview with Elizabeth Beisel after the race. When questioned about the public criticism Thomas has received for competing against female athletes, he stated, “I try to ignore it as much as I can. I try to focus on my swimming, what I need to do to get ready for my races. And just try to block out everything else.”

One of Thomas’ teammates recently came forward to complain about being exposed to his genitalia in the locker room, telling The Daily Mail, “It’s definitely awkward because Lia still has male body parts and is still attracted to women,” and explaining that Thomas did not cover himself when undressed in front of the women.

“We were basically told that we could not ostracize Lia by not having her in the locker room and that there’s nothing we can do about it, that we basically have to roll over and accept it, or we cannot use our own locker room,” the anonymous teammate said.

“It’s really upsetting because Lia doesn’t seem to care how it makes anyone else feel,” the swimmer continued. “The school was so focused on making sure Lia was okay, and doing everything they possibly could do for her, that they didn’t even think about the rest of us.”

One woman who swims for Virginia Tech told Savannah Hernandez that one of her teammates began crying after she was bumped out of the finals in order to accommodate Thomas.

“It’s heartbreaking to see someone who went through puberty as a male, and has the body of a male, be able to absolutely blow away the competition. You go into it with the mindset that you don’t have a chance.”

NHS Mental Health Specialist Deletes Twitter Account After Gaslighting Rape Victim

An NHS Mental Health Specialist has deleted her Twitter account after claiming a female patient, who had been raped in a single-sex ward by a trans-identified male last year, was raped by a “woman.”

Eleanor Melvin, whose LinkedIn describes her as a Mental Health Specialist Practitioner with the Coventry and Werwickshire Partnership NHS Trust, deleted her Twitter after sparking massive outrage with her comment.

Replying to Twitter user Ermine Amies and Baroness Nicholson, Melvin wrote: “It’s horrendous that she was raped. Though, your transphobic views are wrong. The NHS were not lying, there was no male on the ward. She was raped by a woman.”

Melvin was replying to a post by Amies in which she tweeted the contents of Baroness Nicholson’s Thursday speech in the House of Lords revealing that a female patient in an unnamed NHS hospital had been raped by a male patient identifying as a woman on what was meant to be a single-sex ward.

According to Lady Nicholson, the victim was told by the hospital, which has not yet been named, that she “had not been raped” as there were no men on the ward who could have committed the crime. The hospital also told that to police, who the victim had gone to in order to file a report about her ordeal. Under UK law, the definition of rape requires a penetrating male to be the perpetrator.

The Baroness told the House of Lords that it took one year for the hospital to admit that there had been a biological male in the ward and that the rape did indeed occur, and it was only after CCTV footage was reviewed, and witnesses confirmed what had happened.

In 2010, England banned mix-sex hospital wards outside of the ICU, but a controversial 2019 guidance within the NHS titled Annexe B began to allow for men who self-identify as women to be placed on single-sex wards. According to Baroness Nicholson, Annexe B has resulted in hospital staff having to lie to concerned female patients about males being on their wards.

A review of the policy was launched in 2021, and is being carried out by self-described “trans activist and ally” Dr. Michael Brady.

Today, the Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust, where Ell Melvin works, responded to Twitter users demanding accountability, noting that an investigation has been launched.

Melvin works specifically as a dramatherapist within the NHS system — a branch of therapy which involves art and theatre processes such as storytelling, creative play, and improvisation. Melvin also serves on the editorial board for the British Association of Dramatherapist’s professional journal.

Speaking to Reduxx, Ermine Amies said she was “shocked” to witness how trans activists were responding to the reports of the hospital rape.

“The woman was raped by a male patient on a women’s ward and the hospital lied in the criminal investigation,” Amies says, continuing: “Some of our politicians are refusing to face reality and that including men in what should be single sex spaces is an unacceptable safeguarding risk.”

Amies is the Founder of Norfolk Women and a member of Tribunal Tweets, a collective dedicated to tracking and publicizing what is happening in the Maya Forstater case. She notes that the review into Annexe B was launched over a year ago, and questions why it is taking so long.

She says that, despite claims to the contrary by some including Stonewall’s Ruth Hunt, women’s interest groups have not been consulted in the review process.

“There is no excuse for how this matter is being handled. It is discrimination against the rights of women, set out in the Equality Act and [Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination Against Women].”

Children’s Hospital Providing Tucking With Sex Toy Store Contact Info

A top pediatric hospital in the United States is raising concerns after it was discovered providing “tucking” and “chest binding” information guides, one of which included contact information for a sex toy store that would make exceptions for minors.

The Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Oregon contains a gender services clinic that describes itself as providing “a full range of services for transgender and gender-nonconforming children and teens.”

The clinic takes patients “through age 18,” and states that it commonly begins providing medical gender affirming treatments around age 10, but that it is willing to create appointments for children and their parents before then.

On its website, the clinic provides a few official handouts — but its those on “tucking” and “chest binding” that are prompting online criticism. The handouts appear to have been made in 2020.

Tucking is described as “moving the penis, testicles, or both out of the way. This makes the genital area look smoother and flatter.” In the handout, the Doernbecher Children’s Hospital provides information on how to flatten male genitals with tape, how to push the testicles inside the body, and notes that “some discomfort is normal.” It also says that “people of all genders can tuck.”

Within the details titled “putting your testicles inside your body,” which provide instructions on how to push the testes into the inguinal canals, it reads: “If you find yourself getting aroused, take a break and try again later. An erection will make it impossible to tuck.”

On one page, it prominently features a website address for a lingerie store dedicated to selling hip and bum padding, tucking panties, and body shaping supplies for crossdressers. It also directs the presumably underage readers to a sex toy store in Portland which apparently makes exclusive appointments for underage shoppers.

“SheBop is a sex-positive shop in Portland. They sell gender-affirming clothing items as well as sex toys, videos and more. The shop is for people age 18 and older, but they offer appointments before or after hours for younger shoppers. You can schedule an appointment by calling them or emailing [email protected].”

In another Doernbecher handout, similar instructions for girls on how to bind their chests are available. Chest binding is described as “wrapping something around [the] chest to flatten your breasts.”

According to a 2017 study by Johns Hopkins and Boston University School of Medicine researchers, 97% of females who bound their chest experienced at least one negative health outcome, while 51-52% of them reported respiratory problems, and 47-49% reported musculoskeletal symptoms, like postural changes, muscle wasting, or rib fractures.

Interestingly, the “chest binding” handout does not provide any note of “discomfort” being expected or normal, such as in the “tucking” handout, and also does not direct the youth readers to any lingerie or sex toy stores.

Trans-Identified Male Charged In Murder of Colorado Springs Mother

A trans-identified male with a history of abusing animals has been found guilty of the April 2020 murder of his partner’s mother. Cohen Ellis “Vinn” Heath, 21, of Colorado Springs, pleaded guilty last Friday to first-degree murder in the killing of nurse Bridget Kenner, and received the mandatory term of life in prison.

Heath manipulated Kenner’s then-16-year-old daughter, Emma, into stabbing her mother to death, the court heard. The pair, who both identify as transgender, were romantically involved at the time. Emma, who identifies as a boy named “Kenny,” was sentenced to 40 years in October for her role in the killing after she pleaded guilty to second-degree murder. A plea bargain with 4th Judicial District Attorney’s Office prosecutors required her to provide a statement regarding the circumstances of the killing.

Kenner testified in Heath’s trial, stating that Heath was responsible for planning the murder. The killing, Kenner said, was partly motivated by Heath’s intention to steal her mother’s belongings before fleeing together to Texas. Prior to the murder, Kenner’s mother was planning to move her to Florida.

“I didn’t want to, but I knew it would make Vinn happy, so that’s what I cared about,” Kenner testified, adding she felt she was in love with Heath at the time and that he told Kenner if she murdered her mother, “[he] would be proud of me.”

In her testimony, Kenner stated Heath told her she would be a real “man” if she killed her mother.

Emma “Kenny” Kenner

“If you really want to prove you’re a man, you will do this,” prosecutor Ben Hostetter said Heath had told the girl, though Kenner had initially insisted she’d chosen to commit the murder herself, believing she would receive a reduced sentence as a juvenile.

According to an arrest affidavit obtained by local news outlet KRDO, a co-worker called the police when 44 year-old Bridget Kenner did not show up for work. When police entered the home, they found Kenner’s nude body in the living room with multiple stab wounds, along with a bloody knife.

The affidavit also states that Emma Kenner had a history of self-harm, and at the time of her arrest “there appeared to be several fresh cut wounds.” Just moments before the killing, Bridget Kenner had walked in on her daughter cutting herself, and an argument ensued.

Kenner told the court that shortly after she had stabbed her mother to death, Heath asked for permission to engage in necrophilia before molesting Bridget Kenner’s corpse while filming the acts. The video was presented to the court as evidence of Heath’s involvement.

Defense attorney Jennifer Cox questioned Kenner about alleged conversations about necrophilia which took place over chat application Discord, and Kenner said that the comments weren’t “real.”

After the killing, Heath rummaged through Bridget Kenner’s closet and stole her clothing and jewelry for himself.

At the time of Heath’s arrest, he was wearing Ms. Kenner’s rings and a pink sports bra that had belonged to her. Her personal items were presented as evidence to the court.

Prosecutor Hostetter also advised the court that Heath had told Kenner the night of the murder he wanted to “wake up to her screaming,” referring to Bridget Kenner.

During closing arguments Friday morning, Hostetter reiterated that Heath, who moved in with Kenner and her mother in December 2019, manipulated the girl into killing her mother through alternating encouragement, setting deadlines for her, and withholding attention from Kenner when she failed to follow through.

“Manipulation … is the weapon that Cohen Heath used to get Kenny to kill [her] mother that night,” Hostetter said. “Kenny murdered [her] mother, yes, but [she] didn’t do it alone — [she] wouldn’t have done it without the planning and encouragement of Cohen Heath.”

Prior to the death of Bridget Kenner, Heath was known to police. He’d previously been arrested for the torture and killing of his own mother’s cat, which he said he had done “because it would be easier” than murdering his mother. Heath mutilated the animal’s body so he could keep “mementos,” according to a report by The Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region.

Heath had told investigators that he thought it was “kind of funny” to watch his mother look for the cat when he knew it was dead, and later presented the “mementos” to her in a gift bag.

Local news outlets reporting on the case have referred to Emma Kenner by male pronouns and to Cohen Heath with female pronouns. One news site has referred to Heath only as a “woman” in its headline.

Emma Kenner is being held at the Denver Women’s Correctional Facility, and Heath is currently detained in the El Paso County Jail awaiting transfer to his final facility. It is unknown at this time if the transfer will be to a women’s institution.

UK: ‘Herstory’ Festival Features Trans-Identified Male Composer

A poetry event is under fire for featuring a male poet who identifies as a woman for a women’s history month event.

On March 11, Poet in the City, a London-based poetry and arts organization that has been running since 1998, announced a woman-centric event during women’s history month. The event, titled WHAT A WOMAN, was advertised on Twitter with the intended purpose of “[celebrating] the women in our lives, from artists to friends, family and more.”

The free-to-attend event, which will be held on March 23 in Newcastle and March 30 in Exeter, will feature “an evening of poetry, storytelling, and music celebrating the unique experiences of womanhood.”

But it is the program for the March 23 event being held at the Newcastle Public Library that is currently raising eyebrows, with one prominently advertised feature apparently being a male who identifies as a woman.

According to Poet in the City’s Twitter, Alexis Beaufoy-Salguero’s “original composition will top and tail the event, drawing on her own response to who inspires her and her experience of womanhood.”

His contribution to the event comes during a block titled Poets Corner, which says it “invites everyone to come celebrate everything and anything that contributes to what it means to be a woman. From Mary Prince to Marsha P Johnson, Anne Frank to Amanda Gorman, these people highlight the diversity of femininity and feminine expression.”

Beaufoy-Salguero is a Spanish-British composer with a limited track record of note. According to the Guilford School of Acting at the University of Surrey, Beaufoy-Salguero was a cast member for a play held in 2021 titled Danced to Pieces, which was held by final year students and raised funds for the Young Woman’s Trust. He also recently composed music for a short YouTube film titled The Terrarium.

Beaufoy-Salguero’s inclusion at the women’s history month event has prompted backlash from feminists on Twitter, who took particular offense to his description of experiencing womanhood.

“Womanhood isn’t a costume or a goddess essence. This is offensive,” User @Solveig283 wrote. At the time of publication, her comment has gathered than 100 ‘likes’ while the Poet in the City announcement only has 3.

Other users were even more direct, with one writing “MAN” a few dozen times in her tweet, and another putting it in a bold text graphic.

This isn’t the first time a male identifying as a woman has taken center stage at what is intended to be a women-centric event.

Earlier this month, the Wicklow Libraries in Ireland hosted a Women’s History Month speaking event, and Sara Phillips, a biological man who identifies as a woman, was the main speaker. According to the Facebook advertisement, Phillips discussed a “variety of topics, in particular those that affect transgender women in terms of inclusion.”

Similarly, at the University of Cork’s Lesbian Lives Conference 2022, which wrapped up its Women’s History Month-based seminars last week, a biological male was invited to give a keynote speech on lesbianism.

In December of 2021, a trans-identified male was invited to give a keynote address on the anniversary of the École Polytechnique Massacre — a mass shooting that took place in Montreal, Canada during which an “anti-feminist” male gunman murdered 14 female engineering students.

UPDATE 3/16/22: While Alexis Beaufoy-Salguero has locked his Twitter to the public in light of the backlash, users who took screenshots from his account prior to him doing so have uncovered a number of disturbing and misogynistic comments from him.

One user has posted a thread containing screenshots in which Beaufoy-Salgeuro promises to “break the face” of anyone who says he “looks a man,” the accompanying picture showing him standing partially nude in front of a mirror.

In another, he calls “cis” women “fish,” a derogatory term referring to ‘unclean’ female genitalia originating in drag queen subculture.

In another tweet of Beaufoy-Salgeuro’s posted by the user, he writes “If [Sex Reassignment Surgery] is such a f*cking privilege stop degrading our bodies on the basis of transmisogyny. Acknowledge me as a woman- Me & My Beard, My Dick, and All My Testosterone. Then we won’t have a problem.”

Reduxx has reached out to Poets in the City for comment on whether Beaufoy-Salgeuro’s appearance at the Herstory festival will be reconsidered in light of this new information.

Viral TikTok Trend Romanticizes Violence Against Girls

A disturbing TikTok trend is sparking outrage on social media as it appears to romanticize and satirize young men murdering or injuring their dates.

The trend was first brought to Reduxx’s attention by Twitter user @VividFilm_, who had posted a TikTok from male influencer Jack Wright.

In the video, Wright is seen modeling behind text which reads “Imagine we go on a date to the top of the Space Needle and I just cutely toss you off. lol. Then you just cutely plummet to your [death]. lol.”

Wright has over 10 million followers on TikTok, and his primary demographic appears to be underage girls. As of March 15, Wright has deleted the video, but prior to doing so it had wracked up hundreds of thousands of “likes.” Despite the apparent attempt at a scrub, Wright still has a TikTok published in which he pretends to “stab” the person watching the video.

But Wright was hardly the only male TikTok’er participating in what has apparently become a viral ‘trend,’ most of which are published to the tune of Frank Ocean’s song Lost.

The most popular video in the category, with 1.8 million likes, reads “Imagine we went on a bowling date and I just started chucking mad balls at your head and you just f*cking die. lol.”

Some are far more gruesome and detailed, with one published by an influencer taking his background video at a zipline circuit, his text reading: “Imagine we go on a rope course date together and then I just unclip your [harness] to push you off and then you fall and break your neck, but then you survive on life support so I visit you with flowers and then unplug you to charge my phone and you f*cking die.”

User Rextylerr has several videos dedicated to the trend, his most popular one gathering over 600,000 likes. In another recently published, he says “Imagine we just walking and I trip you, and you fall and break your neck and I start beating you with a trash can and you just f*cking die.”

Others have imagined the men’s dates being held under the water until they drowned, being thrown off of a canyon ledge, and being stoned to death. In one that deviated slightly from the format, the user says “Imagine we try BDSM, you let me tie you up and then I just punch you in the ribs mad times.”

Since the videos began to circulate off of TikTok, the’ve have begun to spark discussion and disgust on wider social media, with many women rightfully pointing out the videos satirize violence against women and girls.

On Twitter, psychologist Dr. Deborah Bailey-Rodriguez wrote: “Misogyny at its finest under the presence of ‘satire.’ Nope, never acceptable.”

Woke Misogyny said: “Young men fantasizing about murdering their dates is acceptable on Tik Tok apparently,” a possible reference to how the platform recently took a hard-line stance against invalidating transgender-identifying people by referring to their birth sex while countless of highly sexual and misogynistic videos remain untouched.

User @Venusianfem wrote: “This app needs to go once for all. Young girls are being exposed to the most dehumanizing and dangerous narratives towards women which will only have a huge damage on them while males keep thriving over it.”

The viral TikTok trend comes on the heels of the murder of Gabby Petito, a 22-year-old woman who was killed by her fiancé while the two were living an idealistic, Instagram-documented vanlife.

According to the CDC, dating violence amongst young people is on the rise. In a recent study from the Center, “21 percent of [teen] girls and 10 percent of boys said they had been victims of physical and sexual violence from a dating partner in the last 12 months.”

The rise may in part be explained by increasingly young exposure to sexually and physically violent media.

A 2017 study published in the Journal of Trauma, Violence, and Abuse noted that young people exposed to sexually explicit and sexually violent media, such as pornography, had “more accepting” attitudes towards domestic and sexual violence, and were at far higher risk to be a perpetrator, victim, or non-actioning bystander of such violence.

According to Statista, 25% of TikTok users in the United States are between the ages of 10 and 19.

This most recent trend isn’t the first time a TikTok trend has left people confused and disturbed. In 2020, the “Holocaust challenge” sparked widespread outrage where young users pretended to be Jews murdered in concentration camps.

Trans Serial Killer Seen With Severed Limb in New Surveillance Footage: NYPD

A transgender serial killer who was detained in connection to the murder and dismemberment of a woman was caught sitting on a severed human leg while shopping prior to his arrest, new surveillance released by the NYPD reveals.

Harvey Marcelin, an 83-year-old biological male who identifies as a woman, was arrested on March 4 on a charge of concealing a body, and could soon face additional charges after he was caught on surveillance disposing of a body near his apartment. The victim, 68-year-old Susan Leyden, was murdered and then dismembered, with parts of her body being found scattered around the Brooklyn neighborhood of Cypress Hills soon after she went missing on February 27.

Leyden’s headless torso was found in a shopping cart blocks away from Marcelin’s apartment on March 3, prompting police to get a search warrant for Marcelin’s apartment, where her head was located as well as a number of saws and bloody sheets. A human leg was found in the area stuffed in a discarded tire on the street on March 7, though police have not confirmed whether this limb also belonged to Leyden.

On Friday, the NYPD held a press conference with updates on the gruesome crime in which they released surveillance footage from a retail store featuring Marcelin. In it, Marcelin is seen utilizing a motorized wheelchair with what appears to be a severed human leg on the seat, visible when Marcelin stands from the chair to look at products.

During the conference, Kings County District Attorney Eric Gonzalez introduced Marcelin as a “female” and stated he was “born a male, but prefers the pronoun ‘miss.'” Gonzalez uses feminine pronouns to refer to Marcelin throughout, and often refers to him as a “female person of interest.”

Marcelin has a long history of grisly crimes, and was on lifetime parole when he committed the most recent murder.

In 1963, Marcelin was arrested for attempted rape. The case was dropped after the victim did not show up to court, but laster on that year Marcelin would be convicted of shooting his then-girlfriend, Jacqueline Bonds, inside their Manhattan apartment. He was sentenced to 20 years to life and was paroled in 1984. After his release, he went on to stab another female sexual partner to death, stuffing her corpse in a garbage bag and then dumping it on the street near Central Park.

Marcelin was arrested in 1986 for the second slaughter, but released from prison in 2019, once again on parole. According to the New York Post, at the time, he allegedly told a parole officer that he had “a problem with women.”

Marcelin is now being held without bail on Riker’s Island. According to the Daily Mail, Marcelin is being represented by Legal Aid.

While it is unclear when Marcelin began identifying as a woman, in January 2022, New York Governor Kathy Hochul proposed a policy which would allow trans-identifying male inmates to be transferred into women’s prisons on the basis of a self-declared “gender identity.”

The policy states that inmates who have a ‘gender identity’ that differs from their biological sex will have the right to request placement in prison housing “with persons of the gender that is consistent with such person’s gender identity.”

Inmates who claim a transgender status also must “have access to department-issued undergarments and clothing that are consistent with the individuals’ gender identity, and shall have the ability to receive undergarments, clothing and personal care items through package procedures,” according to Hochul’s $216.3 billion budget proposal, which covers the state Department of Correctional Services and Supervision (DOCCS).

Plastic Surgeon Arrested After Teen Girl’s Surgery-Related Death

A Colorado plastic surgeon and nurse responsible for a botched breast augmentation surgery in 2019 that led to the death of teenage patient Emmalyn Nguyen have been arrested and charged.

Nguyen visited the Colorado Aesthetic and Plastic Surgery for a breast augmentation surgery on August 1, 2019, the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office said. During the procedure she suffered cardiac arrest after being administered anesthesia.

According to authorities, surgeon Dr. Geoffrey Kim did not call for emergency help, nor did he take her to the hospital for about five hours as he continued the breast augmentation.

A 2019 lawsuit filed by the Nguyen family claimed that the doctors left her “unobserved” for 15 minutes after they administered the anesthesia, during which time she went into cardiac arrest, turned blue, and stopped breathing.

The teen suffered brain damage and fell into a coma. She was unable to speak, walk or feed herself and required around-the-clock medical care. On October 4, 2020, fourteen months after the surgery, Emmalyn Nguyen died.

“It appears that Emmalyn stopped breathing because of improper anesthesia, administered by a nurse instead of an anesthesiologist,” David Woodruff, the attorney representing Nguyen’s parents, told PEOPLE in 2019. “But the worst thing is she appears to have been left unattended, not breathing, for up to 15 minutes. It caused her to suffer a massive anoxic brain injury.”

Medical authorities said that both Dr. Kim and nurse anesthetist Rex Meeker had an obligation to contact emergency services.

Dr. Kim has been charged with reckless manslaughter and first-degree aggravated assault, both felonies, while Meeker was charged with reckless manslaughter. Kim turned himself in last month and was released on a $5,000 bond.

Last year, Dr. Kim and Meeker agreed to pay $1 million each to the family as part of a settlement, CBS Denver reported. Attorney Woodruff said most of the money would go towards medical bills.

“We opened this case in August 2019. The investigation has taken more than two years to complete and involved dozens of interviews and search warrants,” Captain Travis Stewart, of the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release. “Our hope is that this will be the beginning of bringing justice and a sense of closure to Emmalyn’s family.”

According to the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Global Survey Results, breast augmentation is the most popular surgical procedure globally. In 2018, plastic surgeons performed nearly 2 million breast augmentations, which accounted for 17.6% of the total cosmetic surgical procedures. From 2014 to 2018, a 27.6% rise in case volume was observed. In 2018, 98.8% of those operations were performed on women, over half of whom were 19–34-years old.

Research published in 2019 in the journal Current Psychology established a correlation between social media use and a desire for cosmetic surgery, and noted that at present there exists “a large body of research” that has “documented the influence of traditional media formats on young women’s consideration of cosmetic surgery.”

Another 2020 study found that the use of social media among young women motivated their decision to undergo breast augmentation, stating, “Social media influences patients’ education and decisions to undergo breast augmentation, with Instagram being the most impactful.”
